  1. hey I'm currently starting my project car during time off from year 12, 1984 ke70(slant) with 4k-c 4spd manual - ke70 with worked 4age bigport ive been searching for a couple hours on the forum but can't find all the info i need is it very hard to convert a ke70 to 4age bigport legally?? is there any parts i should work on with a qualified mechanic to make the registration process a little easier? any input is appreciated :|
  2. well i think if i got to 160kmph mine might do that, mines held on by the rust between the glue :| lol well this thread has helped more people than i thort it would
  3. lol it might look a lil bit like this
  4. I'm not sure it would be your carbies coz mine has stock carbies and still has the problem.. do you have the original spark leads or some newish ones??
  5. mine does the same, i thort my engine was gonna rip itself off the car it was shaking so much  my car is fully stock apart from exhaust and k&n air filter. ive asked heaps of people i know about it and they said its fuel or ignition (or both) replace the spark leads and coil and check engine timing ive gone through 3 bottles of carby cleaner in a month and it seems to be behaving a little better, also if you feel it starting to shudder pull your choke all the way on and drive like that until you feel its safe again this is what ive been doing whenever i start to feel the idle drop and small shudders and it goes away within 30 seconds i still have no idea what it could be, so I'm getting a 4age instead and just driving it cautiously until then hope this is of help to you,
  6. yeh ill start a project thread sometime soon. your a LEGEND!!! that boot seal will look way better than my half white seal from when i painted and forgot to cover it up
  7. might sound stupid but what is sikaflex and can you buy it at repco or super cheap?
  8. just wondering if anyone shares the same problem.. the glue in between the bonnet and the metal frame supporting the bonnet is starting to shatter and drop bits into my engine bay and the same is happening with my boot lid. i was wondering if this is a bad thing and if i shud fix it asap, i just don't want my bonnet to fly up in my face. any help or advice appreciated
  9. thanks I'm gonna do tha painting probs in the next month, hopefully ill get the bonnet, boot, roof and pillars sprayed black so that it looks half decent
  10. mr ae71,, i was looking at one of your topics and i noticed you removed your boot lid seal. is there new ones you can buy? or do you have to reuse the old one.. coz mine is screwed when i start the paintjob ill take heaps of photos so i can add it to my projects thread
  11. nah definitely not going cheap with this aye ive got a compresser, spray gun and hoses. its better to take the time to get things right the first time. I'm trying to debate whether to do the paint now and start saving for my conversion to 4age or do painting after 4age but i am def leaning towards doing the paint first so noone can copy  over the next year i plan on spending over 10 grand on my keto, most people say its a waste but i think when a 26 yr old corolla can beat $40 000 cars its worth it my ultimate goal is to beat my dad's new rx8
  12. oh yeh i think i saw your paint plans in another topic, are you changing the colour along the horizontal crease that goes the entire length of the body? I'm painting with this colour scheme at about the same time i drop in a 4age that I'm gonna rebuild over the next 6 months, gonna paint the engine green too :y: i hope to have one of the best looking keto's in perth
  13. or you could use a bottle brush from kitchen cleaning section in almost any store there just a stick with bristles on all side so you can get inside the bottle. i had same problem with mine, 25 year of radiator sludge
  14. nice exhaust on that car, pointing straight into the ozone  personally i think that the green paint would look good, maybe in a diff shade of green
  15. hey i was a bit bored and got a pic of google and coloured it in, ive decided to paint my car the same. i only had microsoft paint to work with so sorry for the pixelisation just wondering what people think of this and if they have seen anything like this? there was a toss up between red, green and blue
  16. panel beaters should be able to do it, but they charge ridiculous amounts.. just call up a few and see who is the cheapest
  17. the cnc machine is only small so parts are very limited, when i get it fully operational i will see what i can make and if anyone is interested in buying the things i can make i will try make them
  18. once i take it apart ill see what it need but I'm pretty sure at this point it needs at least 20thou taken off I'm gonna go all out with this, everything new and everything i can painted or polished. i was thinking of putting a clear cover on the cam belts as well, i got a small CNC machine so i might be able to make more if it looks good
  19. oh sweet well ill def go all out with the paint then :P
  20. sweet as. well ill keep posting up on the progress of the rebuild and any questions that I'm conufused bout.. i can't wait till i get it into the car, gonna polish and paint everything till it looks new how much would painting the bottom black and the cam covers green cost? high heat paint isnt cheap last time i checked
  21. thanks umm this might sound a bit dumb but does alc operate in perth? i am from perth and i was gonna goto coventry's and ask them bout stuff
  22. i forgot to mention that my mechanic believes that the piston rings have gone and it only needs a tiny bit of machining ill need to buy everything as i have nothing yet, i expect to pay about 3000 to get the engine into my car i think thats a semi realistic number
  23. well as long as i can get it running for under 1200 then i think I'm doing good, I'm gonna implant it into my ke70 and get my mechanic friend to give it the ok, just need to buy parts needed for the transplant and I'm set. tools are easy, my uncle used to do lots of his torana's and corolla's "back in the day" I'm not 100% sure on all the parts i need to do a transplant but ill get them as i go i guess thanks :P
  24. Ive just bought a 4age from a mate who bought a new engine because his old one crapped itself I'm gonna take it all apart and recondition it by myself and was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost to get it bored 40thou with new pistons, bearings, gaskets, etc.???? i have about 800 bux to get started with but i wasnt sure if this would be enuf
  25. hey mate here is a link explaining some of this, :P btw use the search function if forums before asking questions. :P http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=26025
