  1. these are some good corolla websites. heaps of info http://www.dorikaze.ca/dorikaze_corollas_first.php http://www.dorikaze.ca/dorikaze_guides.php
  2. woops pressed button twice
  3. i thort A series came in both left and right hand side fork. depending on JDM(RHS) or ADM(LHS) the t series gearbox i have has driver side fork as well, this weekend i will see if the gearbox will fit and get back to you. I'm pretty sure it will if you get the plate(the one between motor and gearbox) from the motor as well, my understanding of this problem is: the stock ke70 tailshaft will fit straight onto the t-18 gearbox due to it being 20 spline, i have been told that a t-18 gearbox will mount onto the engine providing you have the plate from the motor as well. you can use 4age or 3t clutch-pressure plate and flywheel. i'll post up pics of my gearbox on my motor this weekend, hopefully this helps

  5. ive just bought a t50 from a 3t motor and have been told that i can use it on my 4age, i think its a jdm one too. i don't know if what i was told is true but i'll try the gearbox on and get back to you on this.
  6. i started a thread on the exact same thing a while ago labelled 4age reconditon http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=27945 bit of info there i got pistons with rings and everything and also a complete full rebuild gasket, ring and washer set from a guy here all for $500 just so you know I'm doing a 4age conversions into ke70 and ive spent about $900 and got almost all the parts i need, spending another 300 this weekend you should be able to rebuild your engine completely with new oil and water pumps for $1000 just a few things i'd consider if your looking to save money can you reuse your old pistons and just buy new rings? do you have ebay account to buy gaskets off there? you can get full set for around $500 including the washers and rings.
  7. look at the tyre and their should be a size written on there, look at catalogs on the internet or goto tyre shop and ask for that one. or even check the for sale section. 5 stud is most common so you will have no problem
  8. if your keeping it off road id get a 2" straight pipe(only cost bout $50 because no mufflers), 4wd air cleaner to compliment exhaust, you could get spark leads if you have spare money, weld the diff if the tests include sliding, take out all interior parts (back seat, passenger seat), spare wheel. also if the engine is running a bit rough give it a lil work over, ie. check spark plugs(gaps, pitting, carbon buildup, if they are crap, buy new ones), timing(premium fuel will allow for aggressive timing), change oil, run a bottle of carby cleaner through, helpful hint: if your gonna be doing alot of hard cornering don't run the fuel tank on less than 1/3 unless you have surge tank! have fun
  9. i agree with welding in new plates to replace the rust, i had mini rust spots and dents which go good with bog but that guard is screwed
  10. I'm looking for an engineers certificate and was wondering if anyone knew where to get one in perth without spending a mass of cash

    Spotted!

pretty upsetting but i saw an ae71 spirit the other day in vic park that had rust holes the size of my fist :) and yesterday i saw a ke70cs with an old couple driving it that saluted me as i drove past in my ke70 lol
  12. i get bout 10L/100km in my ke70 with my 4k 4 speed, all ive done is K&N pod and 2 inch exhaust. that said i do drive like mad. 6000 change 6000 change, if you want better fuel economy get a 5 speed and if that don't work try a new diff ratio
  13. wrong section to post this go here and post the same ad http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showforum=86
  14. actually these sockets I'm talking bout arent standard 12 points, they are a weird design that really does work, they have a sort of square-ish point instead of triangle and they grip the bolt like its welded on.. i agree with using an impact driver, just don't use cheap one
  15. i had a similar problem with my 4age that ive just taken apart, went to bunnings and found these special sockets that have heaps of teeth, multi fit sockets i think theyre called. they grab pretty good on semi-rounded bolts, 28 bux for the set of 8 but well worth it.
  16. cost count so far: $950 took off the head today and cleaned a all the carbon off the valves spark plugs i took out of it were NGK Iridium's and still in really good condition :D also decided on paint colour, medium-dark blue :( my dirty pistons, cylinders need to be honed valves are coated in a massive layer of carbon, running this on premium/ultimate from now on the detached head :y: should be pretty easy to polish up
  17. I'm pretty sure this is true, ive got 3 rib and the gasket I'm using in rebuild fits both smallports and bigports
  18. sweet thanks man, didnt think toyota sold many parts for bigports anymore. I'm taking bout 6 months to strip and clean everything and get ready to put back on, i might take less time than this as my school gives almost no homework :D i want this finished in less than a year so i can have my car running while I'm on my p's :fuzz:I'm gonna do it all legal so no yellow stickers for me:fuzz:
  19. my little rack i made to hold all the nuts and bolts one friggen rounded bolt holding the cam of place, all the parts ive pulled off so far, cleaned all the sludge off them. needs a bit of paint,
  20. any websites about 4age's are appreciated, rebuilds, manuals, anything
  21. i'm currently rebuilding a 4age and i had quite a bit of trouble finding some decent websites selling things for 4age's so i thought it might help someone if i put up some that ive found that have good quality parts. if anyone has good ones that they have found please post. Here is a 4age repair manual for all that need it, it is pdf format and 90mb(well worth it) http://files.aeu86.org/manuals/4A-GEManual.pdf http://www.nengun.com http://www.infiniteautosports.com.au/ http://www.japparts.com.au/ http://www.tweakit.net/shop/index.php?cPath=326_412 http://www.lewisengines.com.au/category35_1.htm http://www.jdmgarage.com.au http://justjap.com/store/search.php?mode=search&page=1 hope this helps someone
  22. i payed $300 for the engine but its not in very good condition, i hope its only got blown head gasket not cracked head, it needs 90% of the attachments, like water pump and cam timing gear that attaches to the crank. its my project, hoping to have it up and running within 6 months as i have little money to spend and doing whole rebuiild myself
  23. this is the T-VIS manifold, looks pretty clean T-VIS butterfly thingo fuel injectors back of the engine, i need all the stuff that goes onto here like flywheel and all, my friend took it off for his car front of the motor, I'm in dire need or the gear that goes on the crank shaft and all the water pump and pipes etc its my baby, my dream engine exhaust ports, intake ports,
  24. i'd be interested in hearing how people do this if it is possible i was thinking of doing this but just bought some $100 rims instead
  25. i did search the faq but cudnt find anything, ive just followed a string of links to find http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=18290 sorry for the waste of time
