  1. why bother super charging it?? you could easily get a small turbo and run it at 6 or 7 psi and it sounds better when it spools too, if you wanted to do a different conversion you could get something like a 3tgte and fit it in would be quite a nice amount of power 2 weight from that
  2. that allows you to put a weber on it. all you have to do is buy the weber and your done, i advise buying one thats been on a 4ac engine and tuned properly otherwise youll have to tune it all yourself
  3. you got air-con, I'm jealous. i got bored waiting for parts and did same thing, lol if you want there is a weber adapter plate for sale in the for sale section Goodluck with the build
  4. man have i been lazy lately. i got my DPI approval today and bought some new piston rings off egay all i have to do before i can put my engine back together is hone 1 cylinder a little more should start painting my crossmembers and gearbox this weekend. also set up an external thermostat and will get a detailed step by step on that as soon as possible
  5. big tip, work on getting the rust out of her first if she has any. not too sure on the 4ac but a pair of side draught webers or dellorto's should go good along with a 264 or 272 cam and a set of extractors going to a 2.5 inch cat straight through system, i would imagine this would be worth 20hp increase at least. then maybe start to think about a cold air intake and start it all with a full engine reco to respawn the little beast before you start modding it enjoy 8/
  6. the 4k is basically a smaller version of the 4ac and a cheaper version of the 4age extractors wont fit there are a couple modified 4ac putting round here, just with larger cams, extractors and a weber or two. the 4age will slot right in with almost no modidication and give 40hp power increase. if you go 4k you will straight away lose 30 hp and also have to spend alot of money to get it to same power as 4ac will be able to get to. IMO keep the 4ac and save some money for a 4age or 4agte
  7. the witzl made this for me because i didnt know how to allow for the heater module it really helped me so i hope it serves well to others the setup most people have shown are suitable for 100kw motors, i have done a bluetop(86kw) motor and have come out with these: the pics are the ones from the FAQ only in english. NOT a direct translation but this is how i have done it and it works overrated this is one view of how it is setup and how it should all flow and this is how i cut the pipes to make it fit (NOTE: you will need some 90degree bends to make it clear different parts of the motor) enjoy
  8. dodgy how??? my immobiliser was "dodgy" but it just ended up being a dud battery just make sure that you have everything unplugged from the immobiliser
  9. sounds like its the SC man seen as its only just started happening, try find out the history of it or get a new one and see if it helps :bash:
  10. did you take the carby off when you were puting the extractors on?? if you did, did you happen to let it get dust in it at all? when my car was running like shizz i looked around and in the carby i found a heaps of dust in my carby when i looked at it closley and when i cleaned it it ran perfect my 2c
  11. btw project mu are apparently really good from what ive heard. my friend is getting them in the near future on advice from his mechanic. also they have an oem replacement that is a smal upgrade but is same size and all plus you can get better pads
  12. http://www.neweraparts.com/ this place is amazing
  13. thermostats are self sufficient, i don't know what those vacume hoses do. just pull of the little bit of thermostat housing and check that the thermostat is moving freely, if it isnt then buy a new one.
  14. the bubbles create little sections of the engine that arent getting coolant rushing past them so it keeps heating up. the old commodore apparently had a massive problem with this because the engine was mounted higher than the radiator or something dad went through several heads because the heat just cracked them
  15. if it still over heats after burping the system check the thermostat is functioning, mine stays super cold all the time and needs new thermostat, i guess it could cause the opposite effect too?
  16. the 2.5" exhaust is good start get a pod filter, maybe some metal shrouding to stop the hot air getting to the filter too. lighten your flywheel a bit, if your willing to spend a bit more then get some 264 cams from toda or crower. i want to try and get 160hp+ out of my ke70
  17. yeh you just get a valve tool from a push bike shop and turn it clock-wise. if this doesnt fix it just find one a storage box and fill it with water, then just slowly turn it. if you find a leak take it to your local tyre shop with a mark where the leak is to save them time, make sure you find all the leaks.
  18. check all the valves are tightened correctly. do you happen to park on a slant that leans towards that tyres?? mums car had same problem until i levelled it
  19. nah its not that one, and its not a Ford pilot flat head saloon either
