  1. I mustnt of worded this correctly so ill clear this up. First remove the Corolla seats and remove the corolla seat runners/ slides from the seats. Throw away the corolla seats. Next get the Falcon seats, remove and discard the Falcon seat runners/ slides as these will NOT fit a corolla. Next fit the slides/ runners from the corolla seat to the falcon seat, if you measure the the seat base frame holes that locate the the slides/ runners to the seat on both the falcon seat and corolla seat you will notice that the length and width are exactly the same, hence the reason they will bolt in with no drilling. This is also a legal swap as you are using the original slides that attach the seat to the chassis. As soon as i get a digi cam ill send pics. sorry about the confusion guys. Dingo
  2. Old school Chryslers are cool though. nothing much tougher than a 68 dodge charger, like the one in the first 'fast and furious' that car was tough. Shame it got trashed. :jamie:
  3. yes you will need to drill 1 hole to fit ke70 seats i think into a ke55. As for the falcon seats theres no drilling required on a ke55 anyway. I'm 6ft 3inches and i have no problems getting in and out of the car, Just don't drop any money down between the door and the seat as theres not much room left to grab it :D just swap the corolla runners onto the falcon seat and they bolt straight in. :)
  4. It looks like a Y engine. similer looking to a K, nothing interchanges, i think. 2Y = 1.8 Litre 3Y = 2.0 Litre 4Y = 2.2 Litre It would be intresting to see if these bolt in to a early corolla. Not too sure on power output though. Have to be resonable though.
  5. :D LOL :lolcry: Just the thing to make your 4k-c go hard. :(

  9. i found this out totally by accident i picked up some ford fairlane seats from a wreakers if you swap the corolla seat runners on to the falcon seats they bolt straight in no drilling required all falcon/ fairlane seats from xa 1971 to xf 1987 share the same base defintaly a good comfort upgrade over corolla seats :(
  10. i swaped a 1972 mazda capella that was stuffed for a 5k. i also needed the space so it was a win, win situation
  11. hey guys i think i can help 32-36 webers can be a great upgrade as long as the idling jets and primary jet are replaced with smaller items early cortina gts came out with 1300 and 1600 kent engines with webers I'm using 1600 idling jets on my 5k and it works fine maybe you could use the 1300 jets in the 4 k mine makes good power from rest to 7000 rpm its very streetable and brings back almost 400kms per tank depending on how you drive as mines a daily driver fuel consumpsion was a main piroity plus you great that unmistakble weber induction roar mines louder than the exhaust at full song :( long live the 5k
  12. dunno if I'm gunna cop shit for this but why not try a escort/ cortina ohc 2 litre these things can really go and are crossflow i think the exhaust runs on the drivers side. gotta old car mag with a esky that makes 237 hp @ 6300 rpm n/a. or you could go one step further a capri 3 litre v6, dunno how good these things are or how to obtain go faster bits.getting pretty old now but I'm down with the old school stuff
  13. it all depends on the motor mods, compression, intake, etc i have 4-2-1 mandrel bent genies on a 5k in a ke 55 i have no complaints on them for a good street engine stick with the 4-2-1s give good bottom to mid range power without sacrificing to much top end power another benifit is pulse tuning where the exhaust gases are seperated from the other cylinders causing less turbulance as the gases flow they go 4-2-1 instead of 4 into 1. more flow + less back pressure = more power
  14. a rebuilt 5k is an top engine on a budget mine is balanced has a reground cam a 4k-c head with oversize valves and custom porting. induction is taken care of by a reworked manifold has been opened up internally with the use of sand blasting, top of maniold has been modified to accept a 32-36 dgv webber is ok on juice has exelent throttle response but loads up on prolonged idling you can fix this by using smaller idle jets topped off with a ramflow air filter genie 4-2-1 extractors into a 1 7/8 pipe get rid pf the gases all up has cost around $600 including the price of the motor. it imbarases some newer small cars even beaten the odd v6 commo and falc 6 if you can try to do most of the work yourself not only is it cheaper its also rewarding and benifical.
  15. picked up a brilliant set of genie extractors 4 into 2 into 1 for 50 bucks used only once from the 4,6 and 8 shop in adelaide still have the blue coating on them if you look hard enough you can still find a good deal
