Its an outlet but its the incorrect usage for that design of duct. The idea behind the curved shape is to create a vortex over the lip that draws air down the duct without creating a lot of drag. Running it backwards completely defeats the design behind the duct and it just isn't effective. It'll be generating far more drag and removing less air than a duct designed for the purpose.

Can someone call 888 Racing and tell them that NACA submerged inlet ducts aren't designed to work in reverse. I'd go as far as saying this one probably works like a sack of shit and has similar drag characteristics too!

My brothers alarm went off in the storm on Wednesday. Never had a false alarm from it before. Storm passed through here about 1:30am last night.

Erm...webhosting. But really you could put anything that runs on linux on them... like game servers etc.

The leased shared server runs dual Gallatin Xeons, 3.06Ghz, 533mhz FSB, 2Gb RAM, RAID1 dual 146Gb U320 SCSI drives The new server that I own runs a Quad core Xeon 2.33Ghz, 1333mhz FSB, 5Gb RAM, RAID1 dual 450Gb (500Gb) SATA-II 3Gbps enterprise class Seagate drives The speed difference is... staggering to say the least! The only thing the current server beats me on is disk speed. SATA does 300Mbytes/sec (3.0Gbits/sec less overhead) but U320 does 320Mbytes/sec (2.56Gbits/sec). Not a huge difference but the SCSI disks win on latency. Well my UPS finally ran low on battery so now I'm on my laptop until the network gears UPS runs out in about an hour or so.

I have considered hosting it at home with a 4Mbps SHDSL link but I think its cheaper in the long run to host it in a datacenter... At least until we get FTTH or MAYBE with FTTN but I can't see that happening anytime soon. New server is currently running off that UPS though. oooh! still in plastic (no, not running like that :'() And the bloody fans that have been driving me insane. Note that the RAM slots are now 75% populated
