The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread
irokin replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Check Qantas, their prices usually stay lower for longer even compared to Virgin (my personal preference) and jettarts. That said I'm certainly doing everything in my power in future to avoid flying in one of their (Qantas') junkets again. -
This was another optus fiber break and redundant link failure. :bash: God help us if they get the NBN contract.

I think you'll find a lot of cyclists have insurance, particularly if they're somewhat serious about it. When I was riding quite a bit I had insurance and I wasn't even that serious. Honestly, brake lights for bikes? Are you that poor at driving that you can't judge the speed of something infront of you without brake lights? Bikes have every right to be on the road. Bike registration is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Yea lets discourage people from using a healthy, environmentally friendly alternative. Right on! If you stop and have a think about it. The number of cyclists around the place removes other vehicles from the road. So if they wern't cycling they'd have to take some other form of transport, say for instance a car. Now your minute or two of inconvenience on one day would be nothing compared to the hundreds and hundreds of cars that would be on the road otherwise, delaying you EVERY day. Get used to bikes people, they're going to become more prevalent in Brisbane particularly.

Take it to WTB/FS

*palmface* General mechanical has over 16,000 topic views per month and KExx topics have over 20,000 vpm, one thread is more than enough to have your question seen. Please don't do it again, its not fair to other people.

My point was that if you're running a profit off these then that makes this commercial advertising which isn't allowed.

Its to do with the cars compliance with ADRs. If you replace the panel with another ADR approved panel its OK. Because the cars you listed have either been complied or engineered to meet ADRs they can have them. AFAIK there isnt any ADR approved fiberglass panels for corollas. The only ADR approved fiber panels I've ever seen were carbon fiber bonnets and they cost an absolute packet. Personally I think you'll find little to no noticeable or meaningful weight reduction in fiberglass panels. I hope you're not intending/expecting to sell these on rollaclub.

OK this thread is starting to get out of hand. Please tone it down or I'll have to stop this one as well.

Probably something more along these lines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOKUdMr95Ig

OK this has become rather redundant. Locked for now, deleted in 24hrs.

Sounds like a pretty normal reaction to me, it is a new experience after all. I was nervous on my first drive on the open road alone. Mind you that was around surfers paradise on a busy friday afternoon, but that was my choice. Personally I don't think the training should stop when you do your first solo drive. This idea that you've passed your driving test so now you're A'OK to released onto the open road your own is absurd. Take a look at flight training for example. After 10hrs training you'll do one circuit (about 10-15 minutes) solo usually with no wind and very very good weather conditions. Taxi, take off, turns, landing checklist, approach, land, taxi back. Nothing too strenuous (aside from the whole "landthisaircraftsafelyoryouregoingtodie" part). You'll then fly with the instructor again and then do two solo circuits, three, four, up until the point where you can do an hour of circuits on your own but all the time going back with the instructor. It builds confidence, it acknowledges that you're not able to deal with all turns of events, provides for a system to remedy bad habits and progressively introduces the student to a new environment. Anyway, you're very quick to judge Trev. How about having a little compassion for those who are not able to be as perfect as you.

The problem is that it will become a slanderfest regardless of how many people profess it wont. I'm not prepared to stick my neck out for litigation just so everyone else can have a bitch. So let me put it this way, say something that might get myself or others sued and this entire thread will vanish.

Yea I can't see this thread lasting the day. Just don't have high hopes for it being here tomorrow.

Aww. Did you miss out on a cash handout?

They're not designed to have big pressure put on them, so don't or they'll break. They're designed to (like you say) make life easier in tight spots. Crack the bolt with a fixed spanner first then take to it with a ratchet spanner. Likewise tightening just do the bolt up till it takes then torque it with a tool designed for the job (ideally a torque wrench).

Justin will know more specifics than myself but I believe it was at a Mt Cotton skidpan day sometime in mid 2002. The domain was registered on 7th of June 2002. The forums as they are today came into existence in mid May 2003. There were around two other board versions before that but were lost due to database corruption/bad software/server crashes but not a huge amount on them (by today's standard anyway).

Grow up or f@$koff. I've got no time to mediate your petty squabbles. If its going to continue either remove yourself or I'll do it for you. Trev you especially should be treading lightly after the grief you've caused me in the past week already. Think about it.

Looks like one of those Aussie racing cars.... and kinda lame at the same time.

From what I can see there hasn't been any breach of the rules. Responding to someones question isn't a bump. We don't expect people to wait 5 days to respond to peoples querys, that'd be pretty stupid. ....unless I'm missing something completely (can't see anything else on the audit trail).

*sigh* I think I'll find someone else to look after sold threads. Unbelievable that some people feel its OK to follow these guys around and try to "get one back". They're volunteers. They spend hundreds of hours of their own time in order to make Rollaclub a better place and get little to nothing in return. Worse, on top of that they end up being abused. Pathetic.

Epic fail!

Its actually because unleaded is a byproduct at the moment, at least until the north comes out of winter. I'm not sure if this is currently the case but a few weeks ago the price of unleaded was BELOW the cost price of a barrel of oil. You can't make diesel, heating oil or fuel oil etc without making unleaded (among other products) as well. So because of the northern hemispheres demand for heating oil in a particularly cold winter the price of unleaded drops dramatically because of the need to dispose of it. This is also why the price of diesel has stayed high and people winge about it because they don't understand why the price of unleaded has dropped and diesel hasn't.

Its called Keyword spamming. Basically they're trying to get more people to see their listing by putting keywords that are more frequently searched. Its pretty pathetic and I make a point of not buying items off someone who has been keyword spamming.

Unfortunatly its a forum moderator or global board setting. Closing is relatively simple and can be done from the topic view. What will/is happening is that threads are closed in the course of other browsing. If they're seen and we're not busy, they're closed. Alternatively if someone responsible browses the for sale forum regularly and would like to help out I can give them specific power to close threads in for sale.
