hey all i think its about time i do some work on my 5k ;) did some looking around and this is what i found sofar?? my 5k is coming out and a 4k is being replaced ;) just wanna no what people think about the mods i wanna do to start it of: *reground cam (camteck 33-64/72-32 , 277/284 degrees 0.345'' valve lift) peek power 8000+RPM'S!!! *SHIM OIL pump for faster oil movement and a ford z9 oil filter!!! *change too solid lifter with 4k rocket gear!!! (datsun 1200 push rods) :lolcry: *maybe abit of head work panding price tho and new valves and harder valve springes!!! *balanceing the motor new piston rings!!! *electronic dizzy!!! * and i also wanna get rid of the stock k fuel pump!!! (but i don't no where to start for that one) the things i have sofar *gt40 coil, new sparky leads and 5k stock cam!! *32/36 weber 1500cc jets!!! * exedy tuff clutch!!! ;) *4 to 1 extrackters 2in pipe into hotdog and in a muffler box followed by a 3in dump pipe!!! i hope I'm going in the right direction and any ideas will be grate cheers shaun

ok well at the moment on start up 850RPM'S it sits on 60psi to 63psi and when reving 3000RPM'S sits on 70psi to 75psi and when warm around 40psi ive never seen it go under 40 psi tho :dance: also runing 20w 50 and my oil gauge is taped in where the oil filter is (is this correct :y: ) can you still buy new oil pumps or will my old one be fine??????

Don't spend heaps of money, it's just a crappy old K motor. Balance everything if you can afford it. Use a 20-60 cam in a 3K, 25-65 in a 4K, 4K is better. Run 0.400" valvelift, fit heavy duty springs if you don't want the stock ones to wear out in a couple of years, use 4K valve gear. Shim the oil pump spring 3mm for more oil pressure. Run between stock and 10:1 compression. Get the distributor recurved. Fit extractors and an exhaust larger than 1.5" but not larger than 2". Fit a new timing chain and tensioner. Put something better than the stock carby on, but not too big. Don't rev it past 8 grand. ok found this and was just was thinking can you still buy new oil pumps for the 5k's?????? i wanna do an oil change and new sump gasget and oil pump also what to shim the oil pump while I'm at it umm up top it say's 3mm!!!!!!! what are the effects of this and can you shim them more or it that a bad i dear cheers shaun

well i just been told ra40 , ke30 , ke55 and xt130 LCA arms are the same lenght???? :P i now need a tape measure to fing out i will measure them all and put up some measurements :lol: nexted tym i go down ill measure these and see ke30 mm ke55 mm ke70 mm xt130 mm ra40 mm ra60 mm cheers shaun

yeah I'm just trying to find out what LCA are interchangeable on the rollas i got told carona ones to ???? but don't no sigma one not to sure :lol:

Yeah i sorta fort that but i need a LCA some where between 10mm and 25mm shorter coz the moment i have camber problems /---\ lol so i need to no what LCA are interchangeable (if that how you spell it lol) so then i can go to the reckas and do some meserments :lol:

well at the moment i have used th ra40 steering arm and strut on the ke30 ball joint and LCA i think the ra40 LCA and the ke30 LCA are the same LENGTH??????

yep +1 i found that out today :lol: ra40 are solid and you can not put vented rotors on the ra40 coz the ra40 caliper is not wide enough for vented disks!!!!! ra60 are ventented??? what LCA have people used on this upgrade????? i still have the stock ke30 LCA mounted to the ra40's but have camber problems eg. /----\ i need a smaller LCA I'm thinking about 10mm to 25mm smaller???? ke30 LCA ---mm?????? ra40 LCA ---mm?????? plz i need help for this one cheers shaun

NickZ; a link to your thread will be cool :) and i think i have to take-a-way 10mm to 20mm out of the LCA to strighten them up so i think mine are ra40 :P

hahaha yeah i want fender mirrors too they look good what engine you got lined up for it??? coz i also can get a 5k! don't no how much tho and i read a post from you or somethink saying you no where a red ke55 is is for sale for $200 man if you don't want it i buy it or we go $100 each if ya want just need some body parts as I'm painting the rolla soon cheers shaun

damm how can you tell the difference between RA40 AND RA60???????? i don't no want mine are i got them off some bloke who said they where just celica brakes!!!!!! :) well my rolla is of the road for abit as I'm doing some body work (rust) and maybe some new paint :y: i put the RA40/60 in to day and yeah i have camber problems my front wheels are like this / \ what will fix this???? note: i mounted to the RA40/60 to the stock ke30 LCA????? :P
