  1. So the car is now in a mates hands, who also bought my chrome rims and out rego on it, pretty cool to see/hear it driving round town again... Were gunna start work stripping the paint and he is undecided an what colour he wants it... But once that is done he will be doing an st20 conversion on it
  2. Haha I give my self till November to get it finished 100% (that's when I get my licence back) but if things keep going I reckon I should have it done by late August / early September ... Only bad thing about that is that I will be constantly begging my mates to tow it to the track for me lmao
  3. Rightyo thanks for the advice guys, ill give them a call and see what they can do for me, might straighten out the piece I've already bent up, measure it, and order one the same length but get them to do the flares and fittings for me
  4. I've gone from one extreme to the other, if you look back through this thread I was winging about the front not being low enough and now the rears not low enough lol, probably the last thing I will buy suspension wise, adjustable spring perches and lower rear springs..
  5. Thanks mate, makes two of us haha
  6. All welded up, de-holed, thin layer of bog for my rough grinding marks, and ready for a coat of primer...... And the compressor is not playing :( So I spent the rest of the day playing around with my coil overs and lower control arms.. think it needs a bit more pumping of the guards? Lol
  7. Haha^^^
  8. Sweet mother of Jesus !! What a weapon, what an awesome number that's just insane lol
  9. Sell it to me ill make it a good streeter an u can have a dinged up shell I've got lol.. p.s. I love the way you said "when it gets defected" like its inevitable hahahah
  10. I've played around with Bundy tube a fair bit before and my flaring tool is a double flare which cost me over 200 quid.. I suppose I better use new stuff, may as well run new stuff all around, but I live in the middle of no where, can anyone suggest a place to buy it online, also what size is ae71 brake tube ?
  11. Haha all good I haven't even thought about a cage since
  12. So I have a hydraulic handbrake and to hook it up I need another shirt length of Bundy tube to connect it to the master cylinder, I ripped out my fuel delivery and return tube and also the charcoal canister tube as I won't be using them, I'm going to run braided hose for fuel lines.. My question is, is it safe to use fuel pipe for a braking system, my mate seems to think it won't work as brake systems are a lot higher pressure, yet the pipes look identical in wall thickness and material.. I've already got it all bent up ready for flaring and fittings, just wanted to know am I cooking a recipe for disaster ??
  13. Oh and yea. I still have to make a radiator support but I have to wait on my intercooler and radiator/oil cooler to show up so I know where to weld mounts..
  14. Seam welded most of the engine bay, welded every hole I could see shut, might put a thin layer of bog over some bits but not sure yet, save my pennies and go get some paint and paint the engine bay and interior, but first I have to re do my boot floor as I'm lowering the fuel tank.. also have to finish welding the rear flares on LOL I'm one of this people who starts a job and moves on to another one before finishing it. Also started bending up the brake lines for my hydraulic handbrake, just need to get a flaring tool and some fittings.. I'm using the old fuel line from underneath the car as I'm going to run 6an and 8an fuel hose through the cabin.. I got told old fuel line wouldn't be suitable to use as brake line's, is this true ????
  15. Ive used heat wrap before and had the same issue, mine was the sort of wrap that goes hard after the heat goes through it, than after a few good drives it didn't do it again, but obviously I didn't see how much smoke it was making so ya never know
