  1. I went to the swap meet last sunday down in launnie and I bought these. They are twin carbies of a K-B or 3K-B motor. I asked the guy what he wanted for them and he said he would take $35 I told him I only had $20 so he said okay. :jamie: How could I say no. Well at least I've got a spare intake manifold, that is the main reason I bought them for. :jamie:
  2. Hi Bruce, The inlet manifold is a k-b manifold with the provision for water heating, but I can't connect it because it's on a 5k motor remember which don't have the water port in the head. The only way that I can run water through the manifold is to put a k-b head on which has the special water port at the head that matches up with the manifold. How it works is that water flows through the front of the manifold and it has a little water port just below the intake ports and water comes out of here and goes into the water port in the head which is only on the k-b and 3 k-b motors.
  3. There is a bit of difference from one to two webers. People say that side draughts are better, but they cost nearly twice as much. The 5k motor has had a fair bit done to it, it's a later model hydraulic lifter engine. It's been bored out 0.60' thou or 1.0 mm, It's got a mild cam lightened flywheel, flat top pistons and shaved head and also the head and manifold have been ported and polished. I'm using the 3k dissy because I had electronic ignition fitted to it. I had to get the dissy re-curved and I'm using BP Ultimate as well to try and stop it from pigning. I can't advance the spark any further than about 2 degrees before top dead center with out it rattling it's head off, this I'm told is due to the high compression of the motor. :)
  4. Hi I am still interested in your ke20, what year is it???? I will be in Hobart on this sunday 15th for the shannon's car show at Rosny. I will be with my dad in his 1966 Rambler Classic 770 I went last year with my brother in his green 120y coupe for display. It's a real good day with a huge variety of cars. If you could leave me your contact phone number or address I could maybe have a look see at your rolla after the car show is over.
  5. Hi, here are some pictures of the twin webers on my worked 5k motor. :jamie:
  6. ;) :P Hi Jamesrolla I would be very interested if you posted up some pics of your ke20 parts and even a few pics of your ke20 parts car. I am mainly after the front end, such as guards, bonnet bumper etc. but a whole car would be great. I am in Launie so I would like some good pics before I make the journey down to Hobart town. :) ;) :lolcry: :bash: Thanks mate. :hmm: :sob: :P :) :) :y: :y:
  7. Hi, Do you have any ke20 front guards and a stone tray also a front bumper which are straight and fairly rust free?????? If so could you post up some pics especially the guards and stone tray. :D :P
  8. My 1979 ke55 is in immaculate condition, one of the best one's I have seen. It has a standard 1300cc 4k auto with a GENUINE 111,000klms. The interior is unmarked with not a single crack in the dash, I have had the windows tinted, new tyres and new front and rear brakes. It also has an engine immobiliser, new rear shocks and is registered til JANUARY 2007. The paint is excellent and there is not one spot of rust to be found. $2500 is a NEGOTIABLE price, but the price reflects the condition of the car. (IMMACULATE) If anyone wants a straight rust free reliable rolla give me a yell. :( :lock: ;) :(
  9. Hi all, Just bought myself a 1986 MA70 supra. I am selling my yellow ke55 I want $2500 ono
  10. Yeah that's right, two different cars. Also about the valves in the 5k they are standard size, I don't think there was enough room for larger valves. :y:
  11. Yeah I had the 5k in when you saw me the other day. It goes a lot better than the 3k but I have to take it easy because I'm just running it in at the moment. :(
  12. Hi, my ke20 is bamboo in colour and "duplicolor" used to sell the exact same color in there pressure packs. Well I went to Autobarn the other day to get some and the bloke said that they have stop making that colour but he could mix some up if I had a paint code. So I looked under the bonnet to try and find one. It's on the specification plate near the battery, it says colour and trim, Mine is D3. I gave the guy at autobarn this and he looked it up on the computer and there it was and it is a perfect match. :)
  13. I've got the 5k in and going, had to get the distributor re-curved because of the compression and cam. Here's a few pics I also got some ke30 tailights for my ke55 from the wreckers for $30 a pair. And I've fitted halogen headlights, much better than the old sealed beams. Also here are a few more pics of the old ke55
  14. well I've got the engine all pulled to pieces and ready to lift out. here are a few pictures of the old 3k motor stripped down these are the twin carbs that are going on the 5k, they are off my 3k motor Also I got the starter motor recondioned it needed bushes and a new solenoid I will be picking up my 5k motor from the engine reconditioner tomorrow and I will be pulling the 3k out and putting the 5k in this weekend. :y: :) :lolcry:
  15. hi all here is a few ke25 parts I managed to get from steve orders. :P I am interested in selling them if someone wants them. :P
  16. yeah my fuel and temp gauges in my ke55 don't work all the time, sometimes they kick in. they seem to work when I have the heater on and if I tap the front cover of the gauges. I got told by an electrician that it's the little metal thing that screws on the back of the cluster called a flexidrive that gives trouble. I've pulled mine apart and tried to clean it, it helped for a while then started it's old routine again. :lolcry:
  17. The top one's are ke25 coupe badges they are off the front guards, haven't seen the bottom one's before. I have a "hi deluxe" badge which I'm not sure what it's off.
  18. I didn't ask how much it would cost because seeing that I had my 3k motor done up by the same guy and it costed $1300 and my brother had a datsun 120y motor done up also and it cost around $1200. So I assume it will be around the $1300 mark, It doesn't really matter that much because I was going to get it done up regardeless of the cost. I will let you know how much. :lolcry:
  19. I've got a few ke25 parts I wan't to sell. I have a grill, a R.H rear tailight and surround, a chrome vent that goes on the side of the rear guard not sure which side and a "deluxe" badge that goes on the front guard and also a "hi deluxe" badge which I'm not sure were it goes. All of these items are in very good condition, there are no bits broken or missing on the grill and tailight is very tidy and not broken as are the badges and vent. I tried to put up pictures but it didn't work. :lolcry:
  20. I didn't ask how much it will cost.
  21. Hi, yeah I'm going to use the twin webers that i'm currently running with extractors. The carbs are pretty good but they are a bit to big for the 3k but should be just fine for the 1500. I use to have just one single weber on it and that seemed to be okay.
  22. Well I have decided to put my 5k motor into the ke20. But first things first, I have taken it down to get reconditioned. I'm getting it bored out and fitted with flat top pistons if available seeing that the 5k motors came with scalloped out pistons because the combustion chamber is in the piston rather then the head, so this will up the compression. Also i'm getting a mild cam put in it and getting it ported and polished and bigger valves if possible. The guy said the motor will be ready to pick up by the end of the month. It should be good when I get it back, can't wait! The 3k motor that is in my car at present was fully reconditioned only 3 years ago and has only done about 15,000klms. I was going to wait a bit longer before I decided on doing the conversion, but I thought what the hell I might as well do it now.
  23. At the back of the rear springs there are two lots of bushes one lot in the spring and the other lot in the body mount. push the back of the car sideways and check that the upper mount brackets aren't moving. They are spot welded on, the driver's side rear of my ke55 broke away and was a bit noisy so I got it welded back up.
