  1. Hi, just converted my ke20 from mph to kph and was wondering where the needle should sit when the car is stopped, because I took the needle off and swapped it over. I have got it currently set dead on 0 kph mark, but the speedo seems to read a bit higher than I think it should when you are on the road. When you are doing about 65 kph according to the speedo it seems like you are doing 60 kph, I haven't checked the speed against another car. :hmm:
  2. Hi mate, the car yard is called K&D CARS ph:63402522 :bash: It looks to be quite tidy from the road. :)
  3. Theres a ke70 sedan up in a prospect car yard. the yard is just past mitre10 as if you were heading towards the highway. It's an auto though, don't think its got a price either, oh and the colour is a tan/brown. :D It's only a small yard but you can't miss it.
  4. Yeah same here. I replaced my window strippping and got it from rare spares here in tassie. Looks the goods :D   Once youv'e taken out the old stuff, this just pushes fimly into place. (Y)
  5. Thats the ke55 at steve orders right? I looked at that yesterday, didn't think it was worth $600 though. has a great dash pad. :fuzz: Cheers.
  6. No sorry mate but I don't have MSN. Just send me a PM instead, cheers  What car do you have anyway?
  7. Hi Hektic, you must be talking about my ke20 rolla. I work at Pedders Suspension, It has a worked 5k motor with twin weber's and a 5 speed gearbox It has been in our same family since new (1973). Originally it was a 3k with a 2 speed Toyoglide in it, But it was a bit slow Anyway it goes very well. Thanks :y:  Where do you work? just trying to place where I was going.
  8. Hi, I thought I would just post up a picture of my new exedy heavy duty clutch kit which is going behind my 5k motor. cost me about $190. It's a 180mm by 19 spline kit same as the 4k. I just love the colour :lolcry: . Just got to wait to get my gearbox back from the mechanic, he's putting a new front seal in it. Not going to be cheap, he has to pull all of the gears out of the box because the front bearing and seal retainer is held in from the inside as well. with the 4 speed boxes I think it's just the 5 bolts inside the bellhousing that holds it on. :)
  9. I've just fitted bigger front discs and a twin circuit master cyclinder with booster off a ke30 to my ke20. :( Before anyone asks I've got my gearbox out due to clucth slipping problems
  10. Hi, I have two 5 speed gearboxes here and want to know what the difference is and what they are out of. The ribbed one is currently in my car, just got it out due to clutch problems. here they are:
  11. Hi, I didn't know that the 5k motor came out with 2 different flywheels. The problem is that at the moment my 5k motor has got a new, 4k standard duty clutch kit fitted. When I drive at around 60km/h and put my foot down it just slips the clutch. I was thinking of either putting a heavy duty 4k clutch kit in or changing the flywheel to the bigger 200mm. But then I would have to get a clutch made up because I've been told that the 5k clutch kits have a 21 spline clutch were the 4k's have 19. What's the difference between the 2 5k flywheels, is it only that one is 180mm and the other is 200mm. I thought that the 3,4 and 5k flywheels were all different in weight. :(
  12. G'day all I was just wondering if anyone has or knows of anyone in Tassie that has a complete 5K motor, or a 5K flywheel. :D I've been hunting the wreckers but it's like this pic :no2: :bash: :sob: NO SORRY MATE I am only after the original flywheel, but if someone has a motor they are willing to sell please let me know. :y: :( Long live the ROLLA. :y:
  13. Yeah i'm running a 5k motor with twin webers, extractors, shaved head, port and polished, bored out, dished pistons instead of oringinal type and electronic ignition and mild cam with a 5 speed box. 8|
  14. Hi all just wondering what you all think of the new model corolla? I quite like the hatch myself.
  15. I have ebc greens in my 86 supra front and rear they cost about $250 for the lot trade price around a couple of years ago. low dust and stop good.
  16. Hi, I have fitted the booster and twin circuit brakes off a ke30 corolla to mine.
  17. Got any pics of the ke15 mate. :y:
  18. I got brand new strut tops for my ke20 from toyota ex-japan for about $180. Also Sim the pitman arm doesn't go all the way up the spline of the box. I work at pedders suspension down in tassie and all you do is put on the pitman arm and rattle up the nut with an air gun or do it up really tight by hand.
  19. spotted a bamboo coloured ke20 like mine at the basin car park today. It was all stock and it was from victoria and it had a rollaclub sticker on the back window. don't know who's it is. It had a ke25 center console and it was manual with H4 headlights and some driving lights up front.
  20. Hi was the ke55 rolla a yellow one with a window tint, black steelies with chrome wheel trims. If so then that was my old car. :jamie:
  21. Nah I'm from up north in Launie. Are you the guy that owned the white ke20 that got t-boned????? as he was restoring a ke25. :hmm: also. My ke20 has been in the same family since new. It runs a worked 5k and 5 speed gearbox, I have added 13inch superlites and a sports exhaust. It originally was a 3k 1200cc with a 2 speed toyoglide auto. :o :lolcry: This car is in excellent condition inside and out and I ocassionally enter it in car shows up here. :y: I also love the look of the ke25 and those flares really set your car off. :y: :jamie: Anyway love to see some pics when she's all finished, keep up the great work. :y:
  22. hi mate nice rolla :jamie: just out of interested where in tassie are you located???

  24. There are 2 types of ke20's, there's an early model 71-72 and a late model 72-74. Just like there are ke10's and ke11's. The early ke20's have small tailights different bootlid, front grill and bonnet and are fitted with drums all round and borg warner diffs. The later ke20's are the first corolla to be fitted with front discs and they all seem to have banjo diffs. They also have the longer tailights, plastic grills and the front indicators are on the side of the guards instead of being in the little plastic corner pieces. :y:
  25. What are those off?
