Yep thats the numberplate it's small like that so it throws the officers of the law off my scent

so abit of an update on the car, on the weekend just gone i picked up a full set of stock wheels and tires, a pair of overrated headlights, a bonnet and front bar. unfortuneatly the bar and bonnet are grey but yeah i changed the wheels around so now it's sitting on stock wheels all round
-
mad so your spending abit of cash on the car then????
-
yeah man i'm pretty sure the lca's will go straight into silvia crossmember, umm i'm pretty sure they sit bassically in the same place after you elongate two holes on the crossmember, from memory it was as your standing facing the front of the car drivers side fornt bolt hole needed adjusting, and passengers rear hole needed adjusting, other than that everything else fit perfectly  here are afew pics of my steering colomn bud this is the colomn joined with the silvia/rolla hybrid steering uni joints, i still need to take a bit off the colomn though, with this picture the steering knuckles on the left is the silvia one, and the one on the right is the rolla one, this is how it looks once it's finished with the silvia and rolla bits joined out of the car

Yeah i will grab the comp off you one day soon hopefully before i've run outta work haha, afm i've organised one for 40 bucks so what do ya want for the comp?
-
May i request a pic of your engine mounts please good sir? I'm quite interested to see how it fit in there, and is that pic of the final resting place of the motor, or is it going to be lowered in the crossmember? Have you tested weather the motor will hit the bonnet yet, or is that for after the car is painted?
-
Screw the sr go and buy a ca18det they bolt straight into the 30's crossmember using ca engine mounts, all you need then is brains, money, fuel system, tools, and a good drivetrain, just my two cents
-
What turbo are you running and what computer aswell? So it's just na plus boost? Mad

i have a woman in my life and still masturbate vigorously :laff: it keeps me out of trouble, either that fixing my falcon, sourcing parts for my 70, actually driving the falcon out on friday and saturday nights, or sitting at home watching tv ;)
-
Very nice man, what crossmember are you going to be using? If your going to use the silvia one what are your going to do about steering rack and colomn? I will be watching this thread
-
Is that still with the rb30 single cam head or a 25 - 26 head or something? Forgies?
-
To get the rear springs out(if there stock ones), all i do is jack the car up off the sill to let the diff drop, then undo the shocky which lets the diff get MORE travel, then yank or push the spring out, and replace with which ever springs i have be it cut or lowered, and exactly the reverse for putting stock back into the car! Hope that helps man, cheers Justin

The tires will pass roady, only thing is it's only two tires so 50 bucks and there yours, should come round and check them out if you want bud!, sell me the ma's if your not gonna have them on there anymore -
yeah i've read a thread like it that he used a 33 colomn and i think steering rack, but look into a s13 crossmember and, get some s13 front gear for yours, like coilovers, brakes, lca's and if you would like man i'll take some pics of the colomn for you so you can see how it works together and you will have power steering , yeah i have coilovers in the front of my car and i have to wind them up alot to get it to sit above the 100mm that the police have set for our qld roads haha, AND CHRIS yeah i'm kinda hoping that the head doesn't need anything done to it aye
-
yeah cheers man yeah maybe i'll see how bad the head is but it's fine at the moment, i'm just chasing other little things before i go ripping it apart, like the vrs kit and all the rest of the bolts and bits i'm missing and it'll be done
-
Yeah cool man thats a usefull piece of information i'll keep in mind if i get told i can't use the silvia crossmember, wicked yeah i've been told with the silvia crossmember the ca sits higher in the car, but i don't know about sitting it in the k crossmember i've been told it sits lower, but if you look at my car i want the motor a little higher in the car, cause the car sits less than 3 quarters the height of nokia 6300, at the crossmember from flat ground
-
oh yeah thats not to bad aye, yeah futura's are good too man thats what mine is how much power does the VLT have
-
-
is that at mates rates? or is that just what he wants for it?? should get it before he resprays it keep it rego'd and boost it that would be heaps of fun to drive, is it manual or auto if auto - time for a manual conversion haha
-
Yeah cheers man it was only the motor and those extra bits i got for 150, i'm still missing alot of things though, i had a turbo for it already, well that makes life alot easier knowing that thicker headgaskets make it gay off boost, yeah it's not going into the car till it's had a full service done, all gaskets and oil filter, you by the off chance wouldn't have a set of stock ca steel engine mounts would you bud? Oh i will have a couple more questions here and there along the build for you too bud, so far the ca conversion has cost me - 150 for crossmember and steering rack, lca's, 150 for coilovers and hubs/brakes, 150 for the engine and little bits, and 100 bucks for the stock manual harness so i think it's going alright for a cheapish build, i can see the actuall wiring, fuel system and tuning being the most expensive part about it though oh and the blue plate/plates for roady but i think it's going alright so far
-
mad that car looks tough as man you should buy it back and boost it bud
-
well it's been awhile since i've had some cash to do anything, but now i've started working again i've aquired another piece of my engine conversion :blinks: I was trawling boostloosing on thursday and found a turbo ca motor (minus inlet manifold and everything intake, cas and powersteering pump :blinks: the turbo i already had ) for 200 ONO, so i offered 150 picked up and brought it home today, along with afew wee extras like alternator, starter motor, 8 coilpacks, stock turbo mani, and factory dump pipe for t25/t28's but that will be deleted once i start chasing power in the car. once i've found the bits i'm missing off the motor i'll be stripping the motor down and putting a vrs kit through it, like all gaskets and MAYBE a thicker head gasket as a wank factor thing, either that or just a really good one to hold 12 pounds of boost reliably  , so that when it's on the street it is still got poke but not stupid amounts of boost so that it breaks the motor, i know it needs rings and stem seals (the guy i bought it off said it is a little somkey at times), but they can wait till it gets bad or if the motor breaks, by then and will be coping a forged bottom end if it does eventually break, Either way it has a heart but not a running heart haha :blinks: here is a pic of it nothing fancy just a turbo ca but just to show some progress I GOT BOOST NOW HAHAHA :blinks:

put the globes on it man put tires on them (which i have in the shed if you want  ) they look sick on it -
You never know man you might end up selling the vlt and spending that money on the xr6t, coz it may end up being more fun, either that or boosting the ef if you buy it back,
