  1. ive moved the TPS around and tried it in a few different spots, didnt seem to help so i diconnected it and it ran better but still not perfect.
  2. hey peeps, i have recently put a efi 4age bigport into my t18. i have driven it on the road and it seems to run smooth but..... i can't run with the TPS. if the TPS is plugged in it will only rev to about 3k and then it auto cuts the revs to just above idle then returns to around 3k and back again. you can hold your foot flat to the floor and it only revs so high then the revs drop right off. revs up for about a second and backs off for about a second. also i have not noticed any change with or without the exhuast sensor. the wiring harness and motor were out of a doner car and I'm not sure how it ran before i got it and put it in my t18. the wiring harness was been butcher before i got it to only run the minimum and is also running different injectors from factory. as i said above it runs smooth, but idles around 1700 and its gutless till about 6k then you feel it pic up. i don't know if thats how the 4age runs normally but my 3tc has more power(58hp) than my 4age till the 6k mark. any ideas?
  3. sweet. wiring a 4age ecu into a t18. If your up for it.
  4. Anyone near busselton able to lend a helping hand and help me wire up my 4age? Pm if so thanks. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
  5. alright sweet, feel a bit safer now... haha cheers so on that note, the cross member, comlumn, shaft, boot thing, shocks/springs and sway bar all bolt straight up from the ae71 to the t18. no drilling, cutting or changing pedal box. any questions about the conversion PM me.
  6. i have changed the crossmember, shaft, column and the boot thing or what every it is called where the column passes threw the firewall. everything has bolted up nicely. without having to drill or cut anything. only thing I'm unsure about is the shaft that joins the rack. can't get the upload to work or i would post a photo
  7. ive put the rack and pinion in, without changing my pedal box. everyting seems to be the same between the 2 models. no cutting or drilling required. only thing i am unsure about is the splin for the shaft only sits in about 15-20mm, just past the locking bolt. the splin has a lip so it can't travel past the bolt. is the splin in enough or will it couse damage?
  8. hi people, does anyone have the torque settings for the big end bearing and main bearing? or a full spread sheet they can email? the motor is a 16v small port 4age red top. I know these answer and probably on here somewhere but i have had a look and can't find them. thanks.
  9. Hi, I'm currently under going the 4age conversion in my t18 and I'm going to replace the clutch before it goes in the car. It is a daily driver but it gets a good thrashing every so often. I have never ruined a clutch in any of my cars before. so is it worth putting a standard clutch back in or should i upgrade, if so what brand/type? Thanks!
  10. if I'm putting a 4age in will this affect the rack and pinion on my t18?
  11. hey people, i have a t18 liftback and I'm thinking of putting a 4age into it. If i get a ae71 with a 4age setup, could i also use the rack and pinion setup in my t18?
  12. the 2rz seems slightly easier to install/modify, only coz the 3rz seems to need a bit of sump modifying.. which isnt that hard ether.. also the cost i guess comes into the 3rz, not sure what they cost atm but i assume they cost more than the 22r or the 2rz. not to fazed with a revy motor, would be nice but I'm pretty sure the extra torque would be more suited for my style of driving/fun. ill need to get the exhuast done anyways so i might as well get some headers straight up. saves wasting money later on and i have already for a pod setup waiting. any idea on how well these motors will handle a turbo? it seems the 3rz can handle a bit as long as you don't rev over 6500 with more than 10p boost. wont be turboing just yet but maybe an option later on.
  13. my bad just realised that was the 3rz not the 2rz, but the 2rz and 22r are popular.
  14. In the USA it seem to be a popular conversion. http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tech-conversions/11999-3rz-into-ke70%3D-torque-monster-later-turbo.html one of the links ive read... they talk about 1000+hp. not to interested in 1000+hp car. but i would like a bit more power than the 4k i have, and would also like something quicker than a v6 commo. its going in a wagon, and i don't see much work needed to put it in. as the hilux wagon are both rwd, and motor/boxes are common as so parts should be easy to find if any issues. from what i have read up on the 4age combo seems like a costly project and could take some time. but hey ive never done the conversion.
  15. hey, has anyone put a 22r-e or 2rz-fe into a ke70? if so does anyone have any info on the conversion? if not why is that?
  16. sweet cheers for the info people, makes it a bit easy to research.
  17. this one has a 4k in it. now that we have finished talking about my car, can anyone give me and answer to my questionS? thanks
  18. mate of mine owns it atm, he reckons it a ke72, 4k, 4spd manual
  19. not 100% sure, sounds stupid but i get it in 2 weeks, having a look at it this weekend. West Aust.
  20. Hi, soon i should have a ke72 wagon. i just wanted to know some info, ke70-72 wagon is there any differences? and is there any difference between the sedans and wagons. other than the body shape :P later on i would like to do an engine conversion, ive seen alot of posts about ke70 conversions but i wasnt sure if there was any differences between the 70-72/sedan-wagon.
