  1. there wouldn't be much pressure in the sump though as its basically a drain bowl, the pressure is in the galleries.
  2. This thing is moving along nicely, a great read. It's gonna be one tough little car. Love that your doing all the fab work yourself, wish I had those skills.
  3. but new pics are always better pics.
  4. Starlet engine sounds good, those things are quite zippy. Don't some models come blown from factory, or are they turboed? off topic but another Rolla that needs flares, but is killer none-the-less: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?PriceFrom=462&R=9063439&tsrc=allcarhome&silo=1011&__No=285&__Nne=15&__D=utility&seot=1&__N=1216%201282%20462%20443%201622&trecs=472&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Ntt=utility&__Dx=mode%20matchany&Cr=7&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&SearchAction=N&__Qpb=true&keywords=&__Ntk=CarAll
  5. That'll look sick. Drag spec :P Spinning is overrated, push them to their limits through twisties, keep the grip, that's what gets the blood pumping. ;)
  6. Yeah man, I'm currently hunting for a nice neat Datsun 1200 ute and I hope to make it as clean as this, being similar era car :) Also love your dash, hoping to do something similar myself. Duckwing would look sick I think. Give it a bit of a 'pop' so to speak. If you play around with a few things you could probably lower the engine to lower the centre of gravity a bit to give better handling again. (thats why bmw tilt their engines ;) )
  7. that looks amazing. this car is by far my favourite rolla.
  8. RB conversions have been done without cutting the firewall. alot of custom work as nothing is off the shelf due to the rarity of the conversion. but it is well worth it. power to weight would be killer. rb30et ke70: http://motamota.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?topic=81265.0
  9. find a mate with a car trailer. pay the fuel and their food and a bit for their efforts. or see if you can borrrow it from them for a small fee
  10. ao with the stock xmember being used what sort of mods were required to get the engine mounted? any pics of that?
  11. Yeah that's the one :) its got enough damage it may as well have been rolled! lol. Cheers.
  12. I didnt have enough money for a daily and that. i needed a car for work so i bought one a couple days before the rolla went to the auctions.
  13. Hey, I remember once I saw a picture of a white KE70 on here that had been rolled at Mallala. Basically not one straight panel on it, they were all wrinkled (IMO it looked pretty tough). I've been talking with a mate about it and wanted to show him the picture, but I can't seem to find it, just wondering if anyone knows of the car I'm talking about and if they have any photos. Thanks, Karl.
  14. Thanks guys, its no longer mine though. A woman cut me off and it turned out as an economical write off, I tried to buy it back but my insurance company said it was going straight to the auctions :( I miss it :(
  15. Name: Karl Car: Toyota Corolla KE70 Motor & Driveline: 4K-C with a 4spd manual. Open pegger, but at one stage had a weldy. Cut and painted a shitty tip off my brothers laser, I think it suites the KE70s perfectly. Suspension & Brakes: Corona LCAs, Celica rear swaybar, Chopped 2 coils all round off stockys (at one stage it had chopped VE commy and TJ magna springs) otherwise all stock. Wheels & Tyres: MA61 Wheels with second hand rubber :S Interior: Cut original stereo spot for aftermarket headunit, din holder cut for a double din slot with a usb plug for the radio stuck in place. tacho dash (missing the plastic), custom rear shelf carpeted in black unmoulded dash mat with 4 inch speakers mounted. cut and shut front kick panels to mount 6inch 3 ways. I did make a custom panel for the boot to mount a shallow mount sub on the drivers side but soon decided to throw my amp on instead and whack my 12 inch sub and box in, held down by rope. also mounted an amp on the back of the rear seats. Body: 4 door sedan Other: I had a voltmeter battery terminal fitted with a switch to watch the volts when needing it for electrical work. also mounted an electric fan with a switch in the cabin in the ashtray which kept it below 1/4 temp if on all the time. anyway I know its a few, but these are my favourite pictures from a photoshoot with my mate (interior shots are from a separate shoot): And one of when I first picked it up, dead stock with some chopped to f--k rears:
  16. was it incorrect before? maybe the sender unit?
  17. actually, yeah... the snot is what got me! haha. I only really seen sc14 on my mates 31, lol.
  18. looks way bigger than sc12 or sc14 I'm thinking eaton m90 or whatever they use on the v6 mazda millenias (eunos 800) the screw types?
  19. Well there you go  Now you have no excuse for choosing cheap looking lights
  20. thats an idea, but also, you can drill the hole and if you have it grab a dremel with a sanding face, and sand the mdf so its say 1-2mm thick, if you know what i mean... I can make a simple diagram if it helps.
  21. I've never had a problem with them... hold the face and do the bolt finger tight, get a spanner and nip it a tiny bit more... or a socket.
