  1. No mate,at this stage it has gone into the wait and see basket as I got dudded on the engine, went to blokes mate so I missed out.Aty present I'm looking at a sigma 2.6 ltr manual as a possibility but not definite yet.
  2. Small amount above each tail light under the boot lid passenger side rear wheel arch(mild) drivers door under mirror on top face(very small) KE70 slant nose.
  3. Top Gear Australia, what a crock, was unimpressed the first episode but thought I would give it a second chance, shouldn't have bothered. I guess as a franchise of the UK version they are really required to follow the format pretty close but these guys are just pathetic, awkward and you just have to wonder how much they really do know about cars. Their test track for the guest drivers time trial is really poorly designed and doing it in a ute (as aussie as it may be) is just stupid.Love the UK version, watch it whenever I can,re-runs and all, lets hope thatt if they are going to keep it up they get their act together otherwise it wont last long..
  4. thanks for that but I still have that diagram on the bonnet of the KE I took it from. The pic shows 3 vac lines off the top which is ok but I have a 4th coming from underneath which is the one I was questioning.I have realised,I think correctly, that there is a difference maybe between auto and manual. The manifolds I fitted were off a manual 4k but the egr was off a auto 4k,checking out the old manifold (after I found it)the auto manifold had a line connected to the ex. manifold but the manifold from the manual does not have that connection.I am assuming that it was for some form of heat transfer to the egr.Anyway I just plugged it and hid it away..
  5. Can someone pls tell me,I'm putting an old 4k back together after being apart for a while,on the egr valve(right hand side bolted to front of intake manifold) there are 3 vac lines of the top and 1 big line coming out the bottom, where does this bottom one connect too on the engine,I can't remember and can't see any fitting to suit it??
  6. Unfortunately for me at this moment I do not have physical access to the engine,it has been offered to me site unseen so I am currently unsure of its physical nature regards sump position, engine height etc etc. I have not been able yet to locate a proper side view to show these details clearly enough for consideration so I will make futher enquiries from the person offering before I decide on suitability for a project, just thought it may be a little different and hoped there may be some info out there in rolla land Will repost if and when I can get futher info, thanks all.
  7. Hi,not a boxer engine,north/south,rear wheel drive,twin O/head cams.Looks a BIT like a 4age,not quite as long I don't think and def. not FWD.My mistake,I said alfasud meant 1977 alfetta,I tend to get my thoughts and brain crossed up sometimes(dyslexic)
  8. Pls don't shoot me,I'm new,I've read lots and lots of posts but have not seen it mentioned and I have access to the parts. Yes I can weld, yes I have painted, yes I have built cars before although pretty basic compared to some of you guys and I can manufacture. I have a KE70 slant nose '83 model near complete but with no engine and partly dismantled interior, was 4k auto, also have access to a 1.8ltr twin cam manual(RWD) from an Alfasud so thought it may be interesting exercise to do. I'm in Vic so not sure 100% about legality but I think KE=910kg x 4 = 3.640ltr so capacity Ok,not sure about power/weight ratio. Has anyone played with this setup before or what do you think? Honesty and sensible comments appreciated but not interested in being abused for a stupid idea etc etc. Really really get off on some of the work some guys on this forum do,absolute quality and fantastic vision. Regards all!
  9. I think it goes something like this but you should still look it up- if the vehicle weighs under 800k then you can replace with an engine equivalent to 3 times the weight e.g.800k weight =2.4 ltr engine. if you are replacing engine with a rotary example a 13b,then the rated capacity of this engine is twice the swept volume, therefore 2600cc (2.6ltr),therefore this would not be legal for a 800k car.this is basic but hope it helps..
  10. Thanks for the info guys, are you talking suzuki sierra?will have to find one and have a look.
  11. ok,pls don't shoot me for what may be a silly question!!!Does anyone know of a manual gearbox with a high low selection that could be fitted into a ke70 without going to 4X4 so would still be 2 wheel drive, rear wheels only with high low range box..
