Just work your butt off cam!!!! We believe in you....... :)

If you can't be bothered tho, I'd understand, but you'll have to bring mikala. There's nothin like seeing an old girl on 3 wheels (nearly 2) including body roll, around a corner :y:

Cam, as long as you make the trip all is good! I don't really care what you drive... but a rolla would be sweet!

As Pozman said, its not long now! I did the pilot run on the weekend (and had a lovely time at the beach!) and its goingto be a blast! The trip itself will take approx 3 hours from Melbourne... but I havent factored in the meet point at quenscliff as yet so it will be a little longer...

Speaking of Meet points... where do the Melb people want to meet? MRMOPARMAN made the suggestion of the Mobile/Maccas Altona bound on the Western Ring rd? I like the idea but what do the rest of you think? :)

The Camp site looks pretty sweet too, we are actually right next to a football oval so bring some balls etc, also the sites are bloody huge! Much bigger than I thought so we should have no space issues.

Does anyone have a BBQ they can bring along? We have been advised that the on site one is usually flat out and to bring our own for sunday Breaky. Otherwise we can just take our chance and wait our turn? I'm not fussed either way!

Well, looks like I'm stuck with my 14 inch wheels for the trip as well... I was hpoing to have my "bling" wheels on for the run but the don't fit anymore! My car sits waaaay too low so they scrape everywhere. Oh well! Anyone want to buy some wheels in need of a paint?

Ok, I will get back to you all with more details as they come... like stickers! I might pm nick again about them!

well i got stuck into it tonight. got 1 qtr done, and a few bits n pieces here n there. ordered rings and gasket kit today. so maybe i could squeeze it through in time?

if not ill take mikala. my missus got time off work to come aswell, so there will be less fun for me. but i told her ill be going had so its her fault if she screams and rips the handbrake up for fully dorifto action :)

ive got a little tiny gas barbie i can bring along.. might want another to go with it though. ill tell for sure this weekend.

oh jarrad. on the way back from warnabool yesterday decided to go for a cruise down the GOR.. bloody fun road.. except for the incompetant tourists. we'll have to be careful. i turned off at apollo bay to get home quicker (or so i thought) up highway C119.. ya gotta check it out on the map, it SHITS all over the healsville roads we went along on the celica cruise.. in the wet in the yoot too. i was lovin it! shame we arent goin all the way to apollo bay

There's nothin like cruisin in a commo. You should bring it up. Jarrad will luv it :)

Believe it or not, I like Commodores... to an extent! I have owned two of them.

Gze, if you still want to make the trip and have to bring the ss thats all good. I'm not fussed if its not a Rolla... the majority of us are so no problems!

If Stew has a bq that would be sweet as. I have one but it has no stand and I can't fit it in my hatch anyway!

MRMOPARMAN, I'm a little confused. You say at the end of your last post that its a shame we aren't going all the way to apollo bay... but we are, we are camping there! What did you mean mate?

I've got 2 now. You'll have to come round one day and check the one I've been spending nearly 8 years on. Still waitin to finish the motor at the mo..... hint, hint stew!(jokin)

what models were they?

Posted

Had a couple of VK's, one was a stock, dropped manual version but it had a hot 6 in it and the other was one of the very last made... It was an base model but it had a calais model number with the injected 6 (pretty hot too) and all vl v8 running gear (bar engine and box). Had a ball in them... and lost my licence in the first one too... but the Rollas more fun and faster anyway!

The cookers would be sweet, as long as we have enough room for all the food!

Cam, we are going to be staying at the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve, we are meeting the SA crew in Apollo bay around lunch (they will be there earlier). Were meeting the frankston crew in queenscliff once they get off the boat, then we will head to torquay then throught to lorne for a stop. Then we will make the rest of the trip to Apollo Bay along the coast. Should be great! And we will have some photo opps on the way!

I will post up all of the details pretty soon, just have to type them all up!

looks like th pulsar wont be making it on the cruze, the gearbox blew on me yesterday, only got the prick of a thing going on friday, think i cruched a bearing somewhere. :)

this has just given me the motorvation to get the rolla on the road, no way i'm spending $1000 on a new gearbox every 10,000km's.

OUCH!

Well, that sucks ass.

Just remember, you only have a couple or weeks to get it on the road! Better get crackin!

I'm cleaning my '82 up a little for the run, can't have it looking tooo bad! Might put some other rims on and a new rear muffler (too keep the missus happy) but we will see how the finances go!
