Ke30 Whats The Biggest Legal Motor To Mate To Ke55 Auto Trans?

Featured Replies

hi all I'm new to corollas and I'm looking for advice on what the best motor to put in my ke30 it must be able to bolt up to a ke55 auto trans and be legal to go straight through rego with no engineers certificates any help would be greatly appreciaated :)

Short answer is there arent any. You really need an engineers certificate for any non-standard engine that wasnt a factory option.

cheers looks like ill just have to make my 3k go a little better as i want to keep my car as close to original as possible

Yes as i have just recentlly found out i do need an engineers for my ke11 with a 5k. but i think it is just the Bad luck i coped a person that new what they were on about. i know of at least 6 or 7 corollas with 5k power no engineers, just my luck i guess and a cert is only $450 cheap peace of mind i think. Let you know how i go.

$450 for an engineers certificate migt be worth putting in a bigger motor afterall i assumed it would cost alot more

5k sounds alot better than my 3k id be happy with a 1.4 litre instead of my 1.2 as I'm not after a big power increase just make it a bit more spirited

my ke11 has a 4k in it and when i went to ge tthe rego check done the guy told me to just change the engine number on the rego sheets and say that i just did an engine swap instead of a conversion
