Super Jamie Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 no it's just the bodykit :) actually this would probably be the first time in history one of those big hatch wings actually DOES something Quote
Redwarf Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 That Ford is at the 1000 lakes rally in Finland. I believe Colin McCrash has the record. Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I remember a certain set of lights on compton road ....that stayed green a little longer then expected ..... and also the reason why I only have 1 working shockie and 3 buggered springs and why my car sits lower on one side :) Memories.... Super Jamie: wings actually work when your going quick ...thought pointless for day to day driving unless you intend to corner at stupid speeds. something different: Have you ever seen a 125' Yacht Flying before? What could happen! Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 they do, but something like that is going to start working at like 130+ km/h, which realistically, most rice burners don't do often, and only then in a straight line. and it's YOU'RE Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 the crew would probably like some of that wood. if it floats anyway :) Quote
demuire Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Haha, I've done something similar... But in a Laser 2 monohull. That's what happens when you're sailing downwind in high winds (and geez it feels really slow) and you have your weight too far forward... Fortunately monohulls aren't TOO bad to right again, cats are near impossible... Quote
Nitephyre Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 thats a sweet user posted image teddy :D and as for the others... Air Toyota and the Focus :) Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 P51 mustang!! now iv got wood!! :) i love that lil dacning fella Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 What happens when you loose it in a million dollar ford focus at 170 km/h and roll bonnet to boot _________________________________________________________ "Prints: Markko Martin's Argentina crash."" Ford's Markko Martin and Michael Park suffered one of the worst crashes of their career last weekend on the Rally of Argentina. How bad was it? Judge for yourself... with these excellent pictures of the remains of the Ford Focus WRC. Markko Martin [Ford]: "I feel very lucky to be able to walk away from an accident like that. I knew when we were in the air over the jump that it was going to be bad but it was far worse than I expected. It was my mistake and one that came from the recce. It was a new stage and with only two passes over the road in practice, I did not pick up the rock that we landed on. My line was about half a metre wrong and that was costly. It was pretty clear that there would be no SupeRally this time!" "The crash could maybe have been avoided. I didn't see the rock in the recce. But if we had a gravel crew checking the stages, they may have noted it and I'm not sure whether the accident would have happened." Michael Park [co-driver] [Ford]: "The jump came at the end of a long straight. We took a slightly different line and on landing the car's differential guard hit a rock. The impact kicked the car into the air and it landed on its nose before rolling end over end down the road. The first impact took much of the speed out of the accident so the car didn't roll too many times. Markko's door was ripped open so we both climbed out that side and I went back down the road to warn following cars. It's the biggest accident I've had and I don't want another like it. The time and effort that has gone into constructing the safety cell around the cockpit on the Focus has been huge and I'm so thankful that's the case." Malcolm Wilson [Ford Rallye Sport - team director _________________________________________________________ Can you believe the damaged sustained to Solbergs car was from hitting a water splash to slow! Quote
irokin Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 His team mate then went through the SAME water splash EVEN SLOWER to the same result (except 30m up the road the car stopped and wouldnt restart) Quote
irokin Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 nothing...just the subies they put it down to the front splitter design. While they have f@$ktons of down force on the dry track as soon as they hit the water the front bar picks up all that water and f@$ks everything up. and just to elaborate the first pass he was doing something like 145kmph...the second run 35kmph slower Quote
