Apparently they don't torque steer due to traction control or unless you nail the throttle out of a slow corner then you'll feel it a little bit.

 

The thing that cracks me up is it uses 11.8L/100km lol. And its a small car?

nah they do torque steer a fair bit even with traction control on.

 

Nowhere near as much as some other FWD cars ive driven tho. For example the CooperS would be right up there with the worst IMO

 

The XR5 is a fast/fun little car. And definitely one you could live with everyday as a daily.

Yeah when i crashed i had no idea why it happend but neither do most young speed demons.

 

I thought I’d drop it back a gear and light em up around a corner. I lit them up all right but lost all steering. Car kept going straight into a poll.

 

So no I won’t make the same mistake again. Am I the only one that made that mistake?

 

What about powering around a slippery corner? I’d rather oversteer than understeer. Any ways I still think there crap and don’t see the point.

Real cars lift the front wheels. They aren't driven by them.

I have had a bit of fun in my uncles 76 honda civic paddock bomb (FWD) but that was

mostly due to the handbreak.......

 

It is certainly a different driving style but I think RWD/AWD beats the hell out of it. FWD is fine for

the average motorist wanting to get from a to b, but not for a car enthusiast.

Have to agree that rwd is the best for handling and certainly makes you more confident behind the wheel when giving it some. Having said that though I had an et pulsar with 145kw atw that was such a handfull to drive that I was never without a smile on my face. Nothing like flooring it and having the car lane change all on its own...

yeah, there is a reason no supercars in the world are FWD.

Its simple physics.

 

Mind you, the Integra and Civic type R's are admittedly a bucketload of fun... its like being a kid who's had too much red cordial :lolcry:

I agree that a real car is either AWD or RWD however there is still plenty of merit with FWD.

 

Everytime I drive the Celica (120kW Mr2 engine) in an St162 (hair dressers car) I get a big smile on my face. Maybe thats because I'm doing 100kp/h through tree lined roads around a 10 000 acre farm? Still bucket loads of fun.
