well i must admit its got me thinking i should do mine in the celica and well i got to do the trailing arm bushes anyway and probably do a complete brake overhaul keep them pics rolling loving the progress

One thing I've been thinking about.

 

Before I put the diff on I have to put the new exhaust on. But since its in one piece it'll be in the way of the engine bay when I respray it. :)

 

Might have to cover the whole thing up when I paint the bay as I'm not keen on going back to pulling the diff back out later to put it back in.

She had about 8 Litres left in her. It was pretty black. I'm not going to use the fuel elsewhere so I poured it out in the yard.

Should I do anything to clean the tank out completely or just leave it at that?? If not I'm just going to plug her hole up for now.

thats what fuel filters are for, don't let the tank sit empty, rust inside will make your life a bit of a carnt...

mmm I have about 15 litres in the garage. I might just stick that in it for now.

If your finances will allow. You should fill the tank and empty it before you go to drive it.

mmm They wont. So the 15 litres will have to do for now. It'll be like a year away so I'll drain it again then and fill it up.

 

Tomorrow, if I have the energy to do so, I'll hopefully fully remove the fuel lines and sand them down. Plus I need them off to do the sound deadening.

 

I hope to have the diff in soon. Just need to finish the back section before that happens. Almost there :cool:

If you're already removing the fuel line then if I were you I just remove the whole tank (4x bolts) to clean it!!

Just re-fit the bug, add a litre, shake the tank, drain and repeat. Thats how I found that roofing nail! :cool:

can you buy new fuel tanks?

or better to just have a fuel cell made up?

Don't think you can but I may end up replacing the whole tank eventually with a tank for later model Toyota that has surge tank and electronic fuel pump built in.
