Okay, so we know that there is something wrong with all KE30/KE55 Quartz Clocks. They sometimes work, sometimes not.

 

What I want to know is has anyone had this occur to them...

 

I'm driving along, i look down. I read the time on the retarded clock and realise that its the same as the time on my radio. Its pretty trippy considering the clock starts and stops when ever it wants, and for it to tell the correct time (While still ticking).

 

But this has happened to me like up to 4 times now.

 

Well, i just had to share and wanted to know if its happened to anyone.

 

My mate has a RA40 Celica and it has the same issues and has happened to him too.

The clock in my KE70 works fine.. most accurate clock I have actually.

Yep know hat you mean, my clock used to work then stopped, so i fiddled with got it to run....it then gained an hour or two a day, so pulled it out played with it again, worked fine...for about a month, now it works whenever it feels like.

 

It shits me, cause if i have a clock, its gotta work!

 

PS, bought a ke30 instrument cluster from ebay for 5 bucks! was told clock worked, got it home,

My clock I was OK on time then it started slowing up so played with it. then it sped up. So played with it again and it went slow. So gave up and installed a tacho. So a much better use of the hole..lol

i'm with coln72 ... i put one of them 2 1/2 inch tachos there instead of the clock

 

who needs a corollas clock when you have a cd player with a clock in it

my clock has always worked fine, but my 55 only has 135k on it

my clock in my 55 worked fine aswell. my car only has 155k on it :yes: but then i pulled it out and threw it away when i put a tacho in the spot :)

my '75 didn't even have the clock, just a plastic plug where the clock was meant to be - easy decision to put the tacho there.

i just found a ke30 clock in my shed. unsure if it works but if some1 wants it its here

The early KE30 clocks were removable and an optional extra i believe. I've seen a KE38 wagon at the wreckers that didn't have a radio and had a Toyota badge like cover over the holes.

i had 2x ke30s before and the clocks were running fine, i think it has some sort of setting on the back of the clock to set it go faster or slower if i'm not wrong :yes:
