Redwarf Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 It's been done before, just depends on what kind of day they're having at VicRoads! Quote
irokin Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Ive heard a rumor that the spelling fairy is going to be back in town soon. Quote
coln72 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 don't stress about it. Just tell them that you are changing the engine number. Chances are the nuff nuff behind the counter wont be able to tell the difference  At least I got away with it........... Quote
78_7kRolla Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 yeah mate, its tru , it depends on what day they're havin, we fitted a 7k and they just changed the engine no. they didn't say anything, but we had the car looking grandma spec. gl buddy Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 As stated above pends who's working and what mood there in. But hint make it look stock as, say its just a replacement engine so you need number swap they go ok and walk out and take number and thats it so act calm do that your set. If it looks modded and stuff they will get suspicious and prob want a mod plate. Cameron Quote
coln72 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 didn't seem to fussed about the twin carbies and extractors on mine. But if it looks like a box of shit they will hassle you. So clean up those oil leaks........ Quote
BBQ_Rolla Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 thanks for the help. but now i have to make it look like a granny car. Sic that means i should white walls and a sunvisor on it. Quote
coln72 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Giving everything a quick degrease and a clean doesn't mean having to show up with a "granny car". I'll use my old KE35 as an example. In addition to the mentioned twin carbs and extractors, it was also lowered, had as much rubber stuffed under the guards as would legally fit, mags and a custom paint job - hardly granny spec. Also as i tried to keep it looking neat and clean, I never had a problem with police roadside inspections. They generally will not look that close if it appears looked after. The same goes for motorsport scruitineers. A quick spray of carby clean just before scruitineering saved me a lot of hassles  Quote
