Medicine_Man Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 (edited) Don't you just love going out and spending a weeks wages on tools? :P Latest addition to my tool collection is an Engine Crane / Stand, The engine stand is removable of course, going to come in handy during my 4AGE conversion :) Also bought a Self Darkening welding mask to assist in my education of MIG welding :D Edited August 28, 2004 by Medicine_Man Quote
irokin Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Self darkening is the siznat!! Its hard to line up your work then flip your visor down and start welding...sigh. You learn tricks that help eventually. and that engine stand/crane is one spicy meatball! Quote
ae71neo Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 we'ver got the same crane, its great. But it doesnt have the stand bit :) I want one.. Quote
Teddy Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Ahh Justin, another quality purchase ! Excellent ol chap ! Quote
irokin Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 If you don't mind me asking, how much was the crane/stand combo? Quote
Medicine_Man Posted August 28, 2004 Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 Well you can buy the engine crane alone as a single package for $249 or you can get the package with the engine stand for $289 from Trade Tools Direct :) Quote
demuire Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 That's a pretty cool engine crane, I like that it has the engine stand bit too. Mine doesn't (supercrap) :) Also auto darkening helmets are cool, unfortunately mine doesn't work too well anymore (it darkens a split second too late, so it still hurts your eyes...) Quote
Felix Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 i like the engine crane, would love one of those. i make do with an endless chain and my engine stand i bought new from the markets for $40. i love sunday markets. the autodarkening helmets are excellent. i always found i could mig so well with one of those, but fumbled in the dark without. it is amazing how guys from muffler shops and the like sometimes don't even use a mask. they just close their eyes and weld. experience i guess.
