Redwarf Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Have disappeared to weird places before today. However there has been a case where the local customs guys cracked it when 700k worth of parts were brought into their country as personal checked luggage. The boys nearly went to jail for that one. 67Rolla-Ken Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 We had a large multi national freight company ship an urgent aircraft part. It was meant to go by air from Atlanta to LA to us. It went from Atlanta by road to JFK (New York, yes the wrong way entirely), then to LA to us. The jet sat for an extra two days at around 200k a day. AAE have nothing compared to these guys. I'm sure I know which freight company... they were stuffing up several jobs a week for me at one stage, I try not to use then now :( One urgent parcel was 2 weeks late and had visited 4 countries (was lost in 2 of them) :bash: Though I must say AAE got me in trouble this arvo, were picking up an urgent parcel and they didn't say what they were collecting and where it was going so they were sent away... now have to pay for next flight :bash: Quote
towe001 Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Reminds me of the time when i was working, an order that only had to come from brisbane some how made its way to townsville across to perth and then on to melbourne before it finely made its way to toowoomba. Quote
towe001 Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Would have been good if it was but it was a pallet of paint for one of the companies in town here. Quote
Redwarf Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 It really does come under the "How Hard Can It Really Be?" heading doesn't it? Quote
towe001 Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Yep. When my tax came in a few months back one of the things i splashed out on was a 42" LCD tv and a wall bracket to go with it. Now i finely got the motivation to mount the bracket to the wall and lay up a new tv point etc, cause we're moving the tv from one side of the room to the other side.Just had the father-inlaw help me lift the tv onto the bracket and the phuckin bracket is too bloody short. Yet the bracket is made for a 42" tv If i had a shoe, i'd throw it Quote
Kid-Ae Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 I don't get paid 3 weeks in a row all the time.... Stupid monthly pay... S'all good. Saw the boss and he fixed it up on the spot Quote
love ke70 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 ben, i think you accidently multiplied by 1000 there... wgmg, working tomorrow now, so that will be day 14, with a big week coming up doing a reno, and the people I'm doing this job for having a sook cause i lifted all their paving to get an excavator in to do a job, reason being it wasnt level so when he spun it ripped it up, maybe i should of left it and just broke all their pavers instead of pulling them all up and not billing them, even though it wasnt in my quote, and there was a clause saying i wasnt responsible for damage to the paving? can't please some people, if they wernt laid like shit to start with it would have been fine and if you had dug the holes for your 1200 high retaining wall 1200 deep instead of stopping at 500 when the clay stopped and you hit sandstone maybe i wouldnt be there at all? And you still wanna whinge even though i didnt hit you for extras digging the holes even though i jack hammered 75% of them and got them all to the depth they had to be. f@$k its hard to please some people. love ke70 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 oh and ive worked 14 days straiaght as of tomorrow, 3 different jobs, and ill only get paid for 8 out of those 14 days until i finish the jobs, makes it really hard to get out of bed sunday morning to do a job you know you wont be back to for another week so will be atleast 2 weeks before i can put an invoice in for it. weee Quote

I'm almost willing to bet that the tightarses had laid the pavers themselves to a save a few bucks, hence the $h1tty job! Good to see you give a toss about your work though man :y: , many others would've just gone ahead with the excavator, damn the pavers! Quote
love ke70 Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 oh yeah f@$k yeah they did, and where the stairs are all falling to peices (the only bit thats on concrete) cause they formed the stairs and then let that set before trying to attach the pavers to the top of them, theyre all falling off, theyve used white silicon or something similar to try and glue them down. Its just pathetic. Thanks for the kind words though :) ahwell, if everyone could build shit properly id be out of a job, so make hay while the sun shines... And evan, take iron mate, 2 iron tablets a day for more red blood cells and boosted immune system (i had 4 chest infections resulting from colds in the space of 9 months, each lasting about 6 weeks, and have since had 1 or 2 colds in about 2 years) 2 magnesium tablets for muscle recovery and nervous system health and a mens multi vitamin. and make sure whatever else you eat you ahve a banana and an apple each and every day and you will feel so good in a month.
