got the horn piece, and after some f@$king around finding a bit, got it in.

 

 

Sterioooooohhh!!!

 

the car already had a sony cd player so i kept that in. but the speakers in it were cheap paper cone crap things...

so i bought these.

pioneer 6" speakers and JL 6.5" splits

 

the fronts...

 

the old falling apart parcel shelf.

 

i stencild and made up a new parcel shelf out of mdf and cut holes for the splits. and covered it in a sexy orange fabric i got. put the splits in and put all that back. also just mounted the speakers in the holes already in the front.

 

the new and improved parcel shelf.

 

and the new fronts.

 

i also bought some rims. which in cleaning, when thats done i'll get around to getting some tyres and putting them on.

there 13x6 "gangbang" rims. the guy at the shop didnt no what they were called so thats what they got named.

 

Never seen those rims before, but you got to love the name "gangbang". Get as wide as possible tyres on them and you'll really have that jdm look with the quads, tom's twirler and gangbang wheels!

i thort over the xmas holiday id get hendy with some paint on the interior to brighten things up a bit. i'll let the pics do the talking.

all back together, the perspex cover has a yellow/green tinge to it so I'm going to get anuther piece frm work and put that in

 

i took the green covers off the lights behind it all to get a more yellow orange colour.

 

most of the dash is out atm and being painted either black or orange.

nice work, you should of changed the clock with a tacho while you were there! Looks better anyway. :wink:

Parcel shelf looks the goods, as do the front speakers....

 

I like the steering wheel too...Not too sure about the wheels, but I wont offer a definate opinion until they are cleaned up and on the car.

yea this thing is gonna be another ghetto project, coming along nicely

ok. so i took the car out to the pines last night for a bit of a cruise. my mate was in his rolla and one of his mates in a vk wagon. the big ends a f@$ked so i didnt do anything stupid, just cruised around. we got to a part out in the bush we know is there. its a big long red gravel road. i thought it'd be ok to give the clutch a few stabs, get it sideways a bit..... i was wrong.

 

the big end ticking got louder, so i stopped, it kept getting louder and louder and more and more frequent.

 

cut a long story short, i had to drive it almost 2hrs home with the only time the car got over 45ks was when we were rolling down a hill.

 

i knew it was bound to happen but atm my gfs celica is in the garage with the head off, taking up all the garage space and it wont be done for about a week. so I'm now stuck carless til the celica is drivable and i can go pick up th 4age.

 

note to all... if your big ends are f@$k don't push your car. it will f@$k itself!

finally got some garage space...

 

have started to pull out the 4k and prep for painting etc. no piks at the moment

 

should have the 4k out by the weekend tho.

got all the conversion bits, picking up the engine and gearbox over the weekend.

 

i managed to find a 16v with twin carbs. and a jdm 86 lsd diff and gearbox.

still no tyres for rims, and no new news on engine going in.

i got bored over the weekend so a sprayed the new crossmember gloss black. all shiny like

 

 

also, on monday my madhouse front lip got here and so didi my pedalbox.

pedalbox should go in over the weekend.

looks real good to me.... I'm loving that jap style look, same kind of thing I'm going for with my70... what fender mirrors are those?? where can i get some???
