Redwarf Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Pre Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Dude, why do you not have a Gregorys for it? If the head bolt's are out, and the manifolds are off, there are three screwdriver holes at the base of the head. Use those holes, a screwdriver and lever the head off. You may have to pull the therrmostat housing off the front as well, i can't remember. It's been a while. PS: I flatly refuse to email someone with an address of sik_vl ........ Quote

Des Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Pull both manifolds off. Take tappet cover. Remove head bolts. Hit with rubber mallet to crack the gasket. Quote

Redwarf Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 will i need new gasket wen putting them back on ? ? Probably. Normal operating procedure dictates that you should. If you've been REALLY careful taking them off, you might just be able to goo them up and go. But it is better to change it. Quote
Redwarf Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Yes , but the fingers still have to physically type it.... ctrl c cttrl v hahah its k I don't do technology, anybody around here will confirm that! Shortcuts are out. It's all I can do to even make the letters appear on the screen....... Quote

dfunkt Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 i got mine of with a universal bit with ratchet and long extension :y: ^^^ a socket set with a 100mm extension bar should do the job on the manifolds...can get to the bolts directly if you go straight at them. i've taken mine on and off about 3 times in the last 2 weeks ;) Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Not to go against what everyone has said you can get it off with the manifolds on if done right. But really when the head comes off pointless keeping manifolds on as A you should install new gaskets there. You might need them again, and they can get in the way. Quick run down. Pull off tappet cover. Undo all LINES for vac, fuel etc to manifolds head, spark leads, exhaust pipe etc. Undo All cylinder head bolts. Undo front thermostat housing now tap with mallet should come off. If it is in the car still crank the car over compression will pop it off. If you do that I like to just keep 4 head bolts slightly in still so it wont blow it sky high. Cameron Quote
