Johno Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 OOOO, good to see some progress. pity bout the carport although for a temporary one, it's done alright. we do sell replacement roof covers, just no the sides, although nothing a few shillings and some standard tarps can't fix. Haha. yeah its been about 6 months since i did any work on it. Now that the weather is getting better i have found myself more motivated to work on it. I was thinking the same thing, just a couple bits of wood and some cheap tarps but i might just go out and buy me a new roof, cheers bud :P Quote
Johno Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 (edited) I got a new roof for my car port, Yay! Thanks Mr Bowler :P Spent the day just putting on the roof and finished block sanding the panels with 400 wet rub. After it all dried out, I wiped the panels down with wax and silicon remover and filled up all the dents and chips Edited September 9, 2009 by Johno Quote
JiP Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Looking awesome mate!! Great to see you've got the motivation again!! Quote

Johno Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 Thanks guys! :jamie: This aftenoon i bought new 2 pack undercoat and got some powerfull work lights. I just block sanded all the patches and filled what needed to be filled again. Quote
Ben-89 Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Good work Johno, this will be worth all the effort! Quote
Johno Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) I bought some 3mm wipper snipper line at bunnings. I am using this to lift the rubber seal around the rear windscreen. This way I can paint underneath the rubber just a little bit and later have the rubber sit over the new paint so I don't have that ugly mask line on the rubber. :worship: I'm up late so i thought i would post up some idea's that i have for the rolla. 1. Modifing the bonnet to have eye lids sitting over the headlights - (maybe) 2. Getting one of those remote control mufflers with volume control 3. Multi coloured LED lights for underdash foot well's 4. Painting cam covers same colour as the body colour 5. Getting new mag wheels - (maybe) 17" Black with chrome lip 6. Tinted windows 7. Thinking about not going crazy with stereo now. No subs, just a good set of 6x9's and splits in front. (Less weight this way) 8. 256 degree cams (later maybe) 9. New leather interior (maybe) 10. New carpet 11. After car is painted and wiring is in i'm getting a sick ass alarm system installed with full remote central locking 12. White dial dash 13. New door cards, might try and get some new design that will match new leather seats if its not too much. 14. Coilovers! These are all just idea's. Edited September 9, 2009 by Johno Quote
JiP Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Good to hear that your trying to paint under the seal. :worship: What is this muffler?? I've never heard of it. 17's sound pretty cool. I'd be keen to see how that looks. Yes for leather seats :y: And Alarm system is a must!! Quote
Scotty19832008 Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 hey Johno Go the 17" rims if you have trouble with the tyres rubbing on the struts, get yourself some camber pins. nolathane sell them the 12mm set does the job quite nicely. Just remove rear wheels remove top bolt securing the hub to the strut install the camber pin on each side in its place. there is a little tab face it so that it is pointing towards (not directly at) the wheel. and tighten them up, get down to your closest tyre shop and get them to do a wheel alignment to get the camber spec right then you'll be cheerin :hmm: if you want a part number let me know :jamie: Quote

It wont be for a while (prob next year) but thats handy to know. The tires were rubbing untill i rolled the gaurds but I'm sure they'll rub again if i get 17"s Quote
Johno Posted September 12, 2009 Author Report Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) The Damn bloody mother f@$king wind blew my carport apart. :no2: The winds recorded about 100km per hour in short bursts. Because there were no sides it got underneath the roof and litrally toor it out of the ground. Weld joints broke and the whole lot twisted up. My mum had to clean it up this morning because it was all scattered across the drive way. Edited September 13, 2009 by Johno Quote
towe001 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Speechless Johno. The only thing that comes to mind and off my tongue is "Phuck", mother nature had it in for that car port of yours doesn't she. Don't let it be a set back again. Use the tarp to cover the chariot till you can get back on your feet with a car port or something. Quote
