13BT_KE20 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Thanks heaps! I've actually got a S3 RX 7 thats basically a rolling shell that i bought for the disc rear end. If i was going to use it i also intended to use the front brakes as well, then front and rear would have the 4 x 114.3 stud pattern which is a bit easier to find 14" alloys in. My S3 RX 7 is an auto, but i don't know the ratio yet. If i could find a S2 disc rear and front brakes and struts for reasonably money i'd consider using them instead.the S3 auto diff is a 3.6 :lolcry: Quote

I got more sprinter manuals in mail today and the KE15,17 had 4.22:1 ratio diff. The later KE2X car had 4.1:1 ratio as it advertises the fact in my manuals that the KE2X has higher top speed lower revs yada yada. Also KE1X wagons have 4.44:1 also as Felix said. So Gav if your KE17 is a 4.1:1 is it the original diff still? Cameron You probally right, KE1# sedans both auto and manual are 4:2 and the wagons are 4:4. Mine must be the 4:2 cause its the original item. Also heard that the Tercel diff fits the KE1# housings but not sure about the splines, there're apparently a 3:9 or 3:7 depending on model. Quote

Just spoke to a friend who put a Tercel diff into his KE36 wagon which i assume had a 4:4 diff, dropped staight in and bolted perfectly up to the tailshaft. Now when his speedo reads 80kph he's actually doing 100kph. He's wrapped considering his old girl is still a 4 speed. Apparently a KE10 diff would have also fit but the tailshaft bolt pattern was different. :lolcry: Quote
tojo2 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Know you didnt get them but kp61 starlets (the 4k ones) had 3.6 in manuals and 3.4 in autos. 6" u-series According to my instruction book ke17s also had 4.222 Do the ke36 axsels fit into the al25 center ? Is this borg or u-series ? Quote

untubbed_20 Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 I have 3.9's in my ke10 in the standard diff, can't tell you where they came from, they where rapped up in a plastic bag in a old farm shed. , they are finally shagged and noisey as after 8 yrs of use. I had the same prob with my turbo K's, most only rev to 6000rpm, and first gear is to short in the standard box aswell to load boost without a higher diff, especially with 12 inch rims. Was rubbish with 4.2;s and 4.44's. I am going with 3.7's and 14 inch rims next time. cheers darren Quote

Also RX 7 S2 front brakes which are nearly 30ml bigger in diameter and are vented. Stage 2 upgrade most likely the S2 dics rear with 3:9 and LSD. If anyone out there can help with any of these bits let me know. :lolcry: Quote

Complete S2 rear diff with brakes your looking at around $200 An LSD isnt going to be cheap unfortunately around the $1k mark All can be found on ausrotary in the parts trader section. If your patient I'm sure you can find some bargains Quote
