Shouldn't really matter which oil filter you use, they have the same mount just different length. 4ACs can have much larger filters because there's no exhaust in the way. Quote

eviltwin Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 exhaust is in the way otherwise it would be fine ! Quote

I agree, i use the Z386 on the RWD AE71 4AC no problems. Quote

I'm thinking ill try a few more things... cheers for the help:) Quote
cawrolla_ae82 Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 well ive still got this problem! ive tried evrything i can think of all the vac lines seem good, carbys fine, new fuel filter, new spark plugs, leads, still when i drive it hard it misses less but when i just take it easy it misses, lacking power... not too bad just hell annoying! any ideas? I'm out of ideas and iv got no spare cash to take it to a mechanic... cheers... :P Quote
trav_555 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 has it blown a gasket? got air bubbles in your radiator? take it to mechanic and get him to check ya gaskets, could even be your exhaust or intake gasket Travis Quote
freakAE82 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 even easier, check under the oil filler cap for white scum.. or specks .. Quote
towe001 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Z158 will not fit 4ag fwd Bullshit that it doesn't fit Use to always run one on my old twinky. The only reason for using the z386 over the ryco spec'd z158 is cause its half the size to make it easier to fit up for ham-fisted people Quote
cawrolla_ae82 Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Posted October 23, 2008 hey thanks guys some good ideas there. its started to run a little better... or I'm just getting used to it... its not a serious problem now anyways, just annoying. thinking i may just sell her. don't have the cash to keep two cars on the road, especially after i blew out two tyres on the rolla over the weekend... :lolcry: and rego due soon... Trev Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Is this an auto or manual? The automatic timing should be set to 0 BTDC and the manual 5 or 10 (can't remember) BTDC. Quote
