the Z158 is for a rear wheel drive 4ac setup from memory and the Z386 is the correct filter for your ae82 - replaced the fuel filter? is the carby blocked? or semi blocked? are your vac lines and hoses all intact and not leaking?

Shouldn't really matter which oil filter you use, they have the same mount just different length. 4ACs can have much larger filters because there's no exhaust in the way.

I agree, i use the Z386 on the RWD AE71 4AC no problems.

the fuel filter looks new but i will try that... the carby pretty sure its all good... the vac lines look as new... it starts idles about 5sec then dies out unless i give it revs and idles rough then could it just need a tune up? I'm thinking ill try a few more things... cheers for the help:)

well ive still got this problem! ive tried evrything i can think of all the vac lines seem good, carbys fine, new fuel filter, new spark plugs, leads, still when i drive it hard it misses less but when i just take it easy it misses, lacking power... not too bad just hell annoying! any ideas? I'm out of ideas and iv got no spare cash to take it to a mechanic... cheers... :P

Z158 will not fit 4ag fwd

Bullshit that it doesn't fit

Use to always run one on my old twinky.

The only reason for using the z386 over the ryco spec'd z158 is cause its half the size to make it easier to fit up for ham-fisted people
