towe001 Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Also if you have the money and don't mind cross breeds: a Suzuki G13B engine would go good and be interesting. Wouldn't be that hard. The Sierra uses the same bolt style on the bellhousing Damn nice motor, i reckon its better then the 4age why can't it be bored out to 81mm? hats what i'd like to know. Maybe the blocks not wide enough. Quote
trav_555 Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 maybe someone should go buy a 6a and chuck it in? do them t50s connect to them, or are we talking custom bellhousing behind a nice box like a w58? it would be fun, especialy for all of us p platers, instead of spending the money we do on our 4k's we spend a bit more and drop them in, there even carby arnt they? chuck some bigger carbis on and walla perfect mid sized engined bored out with cam and extractors exhaust and all the jazz, would be nice i think anyone got spare cash? Golberg Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I think your best option is just to sell your KE70, buy an AE71 then convert it to 4AGE. Then you'll have no problems. Quote
Sam_Q Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 trav: a t50 would bolt straight up golberg: people are talking about this option for legality reason of the stock power figure being lower than that which requires engineering. Besides putting a 4age into a ke70 isn't that much harder than an ae71 Quote
Bowler Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 hmmm....possibilities...6A...GE Head...twin webbers... Quote
Redwarf Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I have split the FE discussion off this thread, and can be found here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=25087 My apologies if this thread is now a little disjointed. R Quote
Trev Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 HAHAHAHA - you would think although a weaker block, stronger crank maybe? 6AGE, bettered only by a 2AGZE.... I was researching a 2age but apparently it wouldnt work: http://www.twincam.info/index.php?showtopi...147&hl=2age I work in a machine shop/mechanics so it could be possible :) Quote
Sam_Q Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 the combustion chamber would overlap the bore? as I said before though just get it bored out. If your really keen get the bores ultrasonicly tested to check the width. Of course if your not going for class rules or anything then how about just dropping the crank and rods into a 4age engine? assuming the pistons have the same deck height it should work out. The compression would be lower though because the reduced stroke would have a smaller cylender size in comparasin to the chamber size. Quote
trav_555 Posted November 8, 2008 Author Report Posted November 8, 2008 yea but then i wouldnt get away with the not having to be engineered part as its not in a 1.4 litre block this is starting to give me ideas, why did i do up my 4k before resarching this? Travis Quote
Sam_Q Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) if I get 4 orders I will machine up the backing plates for the cooling system to convert them to a rwd. The original problem still remains though that the dizzy still faces the wrong way and also the intake manifold may need to cut and rewelded hey what cars in australia did this engine come out in? Edited November 8, 2008 by Sam_Q Quote
Trev Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) I'm pretty sure that an AE92 that came into work some weeks ago has a 6AFC in it but we see that many toyota's that i cannot be sure, It might of been a 5AFC. EDIT: I just remembered that it was a white AE90 that came in and it was infact a 6AFC. Edited November 8, 2008 by Trev Quote
trav_555 Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 so is someone going to do this, it would be an excellent project car, do tell in great detail your build up of it will be excellent Travis Quote
Golberg Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 golberg: people are talking about this option for legality reason of the stock power figure being lower than that which requires engineering. Besides putting a 4age into a ke70 isn't that much harder than an ae71 I was under the impression that it was moreso about the fact that in NSW you are allowed to increase the engine capacity by up to 15% so long as it doesn't involve any custom mounts/fabrication etc. And if you follow that engineering is not neccesary. Now with an AE71 to 4AGE you aren't increasing the capacity by going 4AGE so there is no issue. Just bolt the engine up, take it to get the engine number changed and you're good to go. This is certainly not the case in Victoria, but its perfectly acceptable in NSW. Quote
towe001 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 True but you are increasing the power of the motor by more then 15% which is supposedly frowned upon Quote
