Hey I'm new here got myself a ke20 I'm doing up.

Just wondering what the exact factory specified weight is for a late 73 ke20, 3k, 4 spd.

Looking into engine conversion etc and need to know exact weight to see what engines can legally go in.

I have had a good look through google, books etc and asked a few mates and all i can get is roughly 760kg?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Jon

Do they still specify the tare (?) weight on the rego papers or rego sticker? That would be the legally recognised weight from transports perspective.

My 1973 ke25 used to have 760 as the weight on the registration sticker, took it for blueslip and it got changed to 810. And it went no where near a weighbridge. So by that change its legal to put a 2l turbo motor in by 10kg's.

I will check my gregories manual and get back on here (hopefully with a definate answer)

EDIT* No weight specified in manual. So an exact weight will need to be gotten off your registation authority.

For weights they use the heaviest sedan weight auto, in the code of practice a ke20 sed is 778kg ke25 is 756kg, depends what state as to what you X by, talk to your engineer to get it right first time
