try this one Evan it works :)

I'm pretty sure they'll be at least a few on here that knows the ins and outs

But from what i know of it is that the brake line to the rear of the car is cut and the handbrake is fitted between the cut.

And for a road rego'd car its not well liked....

I seriously think you don't need one.

You'll need to break into your back brake line, make new flares, and usually a new length of line as well, as the rear bit will now be too short to reach the rear axle..

Land rover clutch master is what most people use. Make sure you have all your pivot points in the right place otherwise it'll be a dog to use.

Most motorsport places will have them for sale, but be prepared to pay dollars for them, as they're not cheap. ie: you wont get one for $50. $200-$300 may get you across the line.

NOTE: Unless you have a disc rear end, and rig it to a second set of calipers, this is an illegal modification in ALL states, and if seen, you'll be towing your car home, as you wont be allowed to drive it.

what is so bloody wrong about fitting a hydraulic handbrake??? can't be any more dangerous than a handbrake on the front wheels on my subaru!!!

as long as the pipe joins are done correctly, I can't see the problem.

I'm sure I will now be corrected as appropriate!

Whats wrong...... The fact that they don't have a ratchet in them like stock hand brakes. Yes i know they have the little levers that flick over to lock them up, but this needs to be manually applied each time.... which gives you the opportunity to forget.

Quick story - Know a guy who used to have one in a gemini (Mozza's old turbo gemmi for any Hobart guys). Lent it to a mate for the afternoon, who parked it outside another mates house and "applied the handbrake". Couple of hours later he left and walked outside, only to find the gemi was no longer parked where he left it. Looked down the road and found it at the bottom of the hill where it had knocked one of those big green hydro sub stations clean off its concrete footing....... as well as doing several thousand dollars worthy of damage to a very cool car. All the problem was was the fact he forgot to flip up the lock tab on the hydro handbrake. :)

Speaking of Subarus, I have a set of suby calipers as a rear discs upgrade on my RX4. Nice big calipers and pad areas as they're from the front, but still have the levers for cable handbrakes. Highly recomend then for anybody looking at rear discs upgrades as most new cars all run small drums just for the hand brakes. :y:

If you can't lock the rears and spin a Corolla with the standard handbrake, you aint trying hard enough. Put your $220 into something you do need.
