Hay mate i have a idea may sound silly, but next time you talk to an engineer ask them about your limits, like power to weight ratio's blah blah blah, the motor is turbo right? The only reason i'm asking is cause when i rang the guy that will most probably end up blue plating my car, said for a ke70 a turbo sr may just be pushing the limit, but he said a turbo ca will be fine and i'm pretty sure a 70 weighs alot more than a 55 and that is up here in QLD, so next time you talk to an engineer find out what your power to weight ratio limit is, and just ask to see if you'd get away with a non turbo motor into the car, then ask would you get away with a turbo ca and if he says yeah turbo ca will be fine maybe a ca into the car 1st, then later down the track sr it after you've moved to QLD :laff:

His engine is fine. His allowed up to 2.4 litre turbo same as me with my ke36. They both come in at 900kg according to Vic

Yeah thats what they say , but even so just trying to get some one to have a look is a night mare,

heres how this week is going so far, sunday i called a guy, he actualy sounded half interested in having a look,

he even aske me if he could come out and check it out, sounds good to me yeah?,

so he siad give you a call back tuesday, tuesday comes no call,so i call back ,"sorry hes busy right now take a message"

yeah left a message, no call back, call again next day ,"sorry hes busy right now take a mesage?"yeah left a message"

no call back again, called back again 3rd time "sorry hes on the phone can you hold on?" yess ill hold," umm sorry hes going to be a few mintues ,get him to call you back in a few minutes what your number"gives number again and hangs up

no call back....

this is what I'm dealing with, these sort of c**ts,have no interest in helping out or geting back to you, welcom to victoria,

tomorrow being thursday i have a appoinment to go talk to a engineer at his work which is an hour and a half drive away ,taking pics and crap to show and tell , will tell yous what happens there....................

Are any of them even telling you their reasons why they don't want to do it? Or just making up excuses without a reason?

That guy you said that kept changing his mind, makes you wonder how he ever gets any cars approved if he can't even work to the guidline hey

Hi, some people on here are giving the wrong info, i think there are people reading this that are having a good giggle, get a copy of the rules for your state, you will find it is legal to do your conversion you just have to play by the rules, i've just read through and i can find a few things that just aren't passable, if you do it right as per the rules it will pass, banging your head and getting up people usually just ends up with you getting a headache

Thanks for that but i have being doing right by the rules in the first place,i didnt start this project with out consulting if my engine would be legal or not, every one i spoke to said its fine under the power to weight ratio ruling,i was even working with an engineer at the start, how ever engineers in victoria are off there heads, they all have there little things they don't like etc due to the fact that they can interperate the rules as they see it making any middle ground between the different ones very hard to find, also to any one having a laugh at my problem,

GET F@#$K#$ come to victoria and try building a car with all the rediculous crap we have to deal with down here and see if your laughing then c**ts

Well i do blue plates and i was trying to give you some friendly advice but with your attitude you can stick your corolla, they will still be laughing and i'm sure you will get the outcome you deserve, HINT have a look at your brakes then check the rules, unsubscribed!!!!!

I'm starting the think all of these problems you are having might be related to that attitude shown just now.

Most of the things you said the engineer has a problem with have been engineered on plenty of other cars. Oh and curly is a pretty smart dude and knows his rollas but i guess you don't need his help and you have it all under control.
