Hey all. My ke38 has its original in dash AM radio and a tape player molded into the centre console, from which i'm told isn't in all of them. Seeing as i'm not really going for the original feel of my ke38 I was wondering wether the original tape player and AM radio are worth anything from a sale point? Like are they hard to come by? Or just pull it out and throw them in the bin?

I was searching for an early KE10 original deck for ages.... now one has popped up in the parts for sale, just after I gave up and brought a new deck that will suit the car.

I don't think any original parts like this should be turfed. Eventually someone is going to want one and I'm sure it won't take up too much room to store.

But I am a bit of a pack-rat :jamie:

Yeah maybe a ke10 or 20 item, but not a 30 or 55. They're just too common. At the end of the day its a tape deck (who used taped these days anyway!) with 3x speaker outputs and an AM radio! :jamie: ...not!

The Clarion 8-track player in my mazda, now thats a different story. Not that you can still get any 8-tracks these days to play in it. :bash:

I reckon that you should keep it on the off chance someone will want it. But I have a horribly habit of storing parts like that...

My ke30 had its original am radio and speaker in the dashboard when I bought it, I drove around listening to abc (over a very loud exhaust) for months... then I finally (butchered it a little) fitted an fm unit and speakers, and drove around listening to triple j...
