blair_355 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 hey i was just wondering if anyone has put a v6 into a ke55 Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 yes, i heard of a v6 commodore motor in a ke30 that ran exactly the same time as one that had a worked celica 18R in it verdict: too heavy, bogan material :P Quote
Tiger Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Hey dude! Welcome to RollaClub... I was wondering when you were gonna look into this forum :P This would be a good conversion for a drag strip car, as it would be nose heavy... There was a KE35 rolling shell for sale which had a Commodore V6 and provision for a TH700R auto tranny. The guy wanted $2500 just for the shell. So it can be done.. but it won't be suited as a daily driver. Quote
blair_355 Posted June 18, 2005 Author Report Posted June 18, 2005 yeah i been around for a while just havent got around to posting till now there was supposed to be 1 at calder friday night gone but i couldnt get there Quote
wyldephyre Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 (edited) Does this count? :) WAGZ-O-DEATH!!! Beat me to it! Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!! V6 KE38 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D We drove the wagon-o-death in the wet for the first time in the wet today... It has much in common with it's ragtag owner; Neither of us like the cold, and we like getting wet in the cold even less. /Off topic Edited June 19, 2005 by wyldephyre Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Has anyone considered a turbo Hyabusa engine. In england they put them in minis and can get 400 ponies out of them. Obviously space is not a prob and anything can be engineered to match anything for a price. Quote
demuire Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Very hard to engineer a bike engine in a car, due to emissons problems (bikes are complianced differently to cars). I have no doubt that a Hyabusa engine would probably be better than a K engine in terms of emissions, but unfortunately what I think isn't enough to convince "them people who govern the ADRs", so you'll have to go through the whole process of emissions testing, which costs a lot of money. rob1 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 there is a blue '55 on ebay at the moment with a vp commo v6 in it at the moment. $500!!! Quote

I'd also like to know what sort of torque the busa engine has...... Man the engine bay would look stark! Quote
demuire Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 I doubt a busa engine would have any amazing torque figures, it is after all a 1300cc engine... Quote
ancullen Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I have a mate who claims that the Hayabusa motor actually isn't that bad for torque, but I find it hard to believe that a 1300cc N/A motor making a such a high power figure wouldn't be peaky. Turbo motors might be a different case. Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I have a mate who claims that the Hayabusa motor actually isn't that bad for torque no performance or cruise bike over 1L is bad for torque not when it's only moving 200-odd kg, including rider, anyway Quote
