Jono.C Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 hey guys currently i drive a ke70 with a k40 4 speed and i wish to convert it to a k50 5 speed A guy told me he had a k50 so i went and looked at it and yep looks like a winner except for one problem the clutch piece was on the other side?? is this the k50 or a different gearbox? and if it is a k50 how do i run it in my ke70? Cheers (: Quote
altezzaclub Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 I don't know what box that is Jono, but the K50 I replaced my K40 with had the clutch slave on the same side! It was a very simple swap! Quote
Jono.C Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Posted January 3, 2010 it was identical to a k40 housing but clutch was on opposite side! ;) Quote
seabiscuit Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 it was identical to a k40 housing but clutch was on opposite side! ;) It's got me... Pretty sure it's not a K50 if it is on the wrong side! Quote
Evan G Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 the k50 and k40 in the shed are on the same side? Quote
TE278U Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 gearbox was upside down at the time??? Quote
Jono.C Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 gearbox was upside down at the time??? haha no.. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Doubt its a K50 if the clutch is on the other side. All K suitable boxes (beit K40/K50 K-T50 [cable or hydro], K-steel W or K-alloy W) all have the clutch fork on the drivers side. Get us a pic and will confirm :P Quote
