Medicine_Man Posted January 26, 2004 Author Report Posted January 26, 2004 Yeah, shed has to be cleared for my 21st, so its got to get rolling soon.. This empty engine bay will be transformed :D Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 Got some inspiration today and got the drivers side suspension unit painted (looks nice with the chrome brake shield). Quote
Teddy Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 .... ;) .... :).... Need :D More :D Photos  Looooking Exelent!! Quote
demuire Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Very very pretty :D I hope you used heat resistant paint on that heat shield, it does tend to get quite hot too. Although, normal paint might be able to take the heat, but I wouldn't risk it. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 14, 2004 Author Report Posted February 14, 2004 Got more busy the last few days, took the disc brakes in to have them machined, only to find out they had been machined before and wouldn't be able to take any more machining. Ended up buying a new set to save any more f@$king around. Anyways, I ripped the discs off the hubs yesterday and cleaned them up today and gave the hubs a few coats of Black VHT Paint Tomorrow I will bolt the dics to the hubs, ran out of time this afternoon unfortunatly, also the strut inserts are going in and I'm hoping I will *possibly* get the suspension all back together on the crossmember and back on the car. Quote
demuire Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 Looking very flash, gotta love the look of new discs... Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 15, 2004 Author Report Posted February 15, 2004 Got the drivers side suspension back together Quote
demuire Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Very nice. Those struts look sooooo long... Probably cause mine are larger diameter and shorter stroke... It'd be interesting to see how long the paint on the spring holds out - did you end up adding that "plasticiser" or whatever it is to make the paint more flexible? Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 15, 2004 Author Report Posted February 15, 2004 The paint didn't crack when I compressed the springs to put them back in, I wrapped some cloth around the springs to stop the spring compressors from scratching them, didn't add anything to the paint, just had a coat of acrylic primer and then shot over with a spray can of orange enamel paint. Springs do look long, but thats just because they don't have the weight of the car / engine on them yet.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 15, 2004 Author Report Posted February 15, 2004 Well its finally happened, the Crossmember is back in! Complete with suspension struts so far Next step is to get the disc brakes back on, then get the front swaybar back in so the car can be finnaly dropped back on its feet. Quote
Teddy Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 FFS ! It just keeps getting better ! WOW !!! those colours all go 2 gether wounderfully.... wow ! Quote
demuire Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 That's very pretty. Good idea with the crossmember tabs too (putting masking tape? cardboard?) under them so you don't scratch the paint like me :D Quote
