RA28GT Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Picked up another fastback today at a price i just couldn't say no to. Runs great, drives beautiful, minimal rust and only a few dents. Interior is a little bashed but I'm not too fussed. Plans: Slam Walls Put on my overrated bumpers Open to suggestions? Especially for colour scheme. I have lots of other ideas but I'm looking for suggestions until i decide exactly what I'm doing. Crappy photoshop but you get the idea, just tossing a few things around. Current paint matte'd back with splashes of satin blak here and there. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Since you've got one thats already in the weeds...... Do baja bits fit in fastbacks? Could jack it up and make it a beach buggy'ish fastback! :D Quote

philbey Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 honestly, don't do that colour scheme, certainly don't do it with flat black because unless you spend the time effort and money flat black looks shit. Dump it, put some fuchs on it and roll. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 You should try a Rat Rod style with this one Troy!! Would be quite the contrast from your clean orange one. :D A few months back I saw a beetle in the Rat Rod style and it was awesome :D Quote

Would be quite the contrast from your clean orange one. :D A few months back I saw a beetle in the Rat Rod style and it was awesome :D That was originally the plan Luke! But some of the vw boys have convinced me out of it because it's actually a pretty good car. I think it will be partial rat but not full on. Quote

If so I see it a bit, this afternoon in fact. It's freakin pimpin. There was one of these for sale at UPI Lonsdale a couple of months back. Needed a full resto though. Lookin good Troy :D. Quote

RA28GT Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 dropped the back end today and it turned out too low ;) I was hoping the height would be even with the front. I feel too hood rich (commodore style) with the height like this. Ohh by the way check out my sick exhaust haha Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 LEAVE IT! i like it, i always try keep the sill line of the car level with the ground when lowering cars. Your seem to be pretty good IMO, honestly its probably too low all round. But if you can get away with driving it like that DO IT, big thumbs up from me! Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Yeah, looks shit hot. :) Like all my cars that's just way too low, but it's the only way. It's not low enough if it doesn't scrape ;) recently we did a cheque (spelling?) bonnet for a beetle, don't paint it as you might get sick of it, we did a cover that slips on and ties on underneath. Sorta like a car bra I guess. We did one in black for them as well, fits like a glove. Most motor trimmers would help you out if you go that way. Makes it even easier to change the look of the car.
