  1. Hey guys through I would update this thread as Ive put some work back into my RA23 lately. Been stripped right back and painted in original Toyota 352 Orange. New front chin fitted. Running 14x8 -12 all round with spacers on the back, currently having some 14x9.5 made for the rear. Dropped the coils right down and dropped the rear also. Current plans are original GT stripes and tiny and a touch more low in the rear.
  2. Been driving old Mercedes because I'm getting old and my back hurts :)
  3. Well the bastard already blew a head gasket haha. I think I will stick to Toyota from now on!
  4. Hey guys was in need of a new daily so I decided to to something stupid and buy a volvo Nissan Stagea. Had it for about a week and I've got it low(ish) and put some new shoes on. 1998 Nissan C34 S1 RS4 Stagea 4 Wheel Drive RB25 Turbo Automatic BC Coilovers 18x10 +38 Fronts with 15mm Hubcentric Spacers 18x9 +28 Rears 225/40/18 Falkens all round Leather Seats DVD stereo Overall super tidy and surprisingly comfortable to drive.
  5. Well its been ages since I've done alot with the Mercedes. I have found an entire original red interior set in next to perfect condition, I will have to get some pictures. Ordered all my gear to get the front bagged and came across a set of wheels that I thought might work instead of the standard gear. They are genuine german 16x8 +11 rials. Very rare wheels and although they came out early 70's I think the suit my finny well? Here's a photoshop of its ultimate driving height: and here's the current height: Most people like them what are you guys opinions?
  6. They should fit no problems. The front can go as wide as 7" et +6 withing poking outside the guards.
  7. There should be a 'notch' under the guard that the spring cup sits in perfectly. All my early Toyota's have it. That's the exact position for original style fender mirrors.
  8. Hey guys have my 1989 W124 300CE Mercedes Benz for sale. It has been my daily driver and then my girlfriend’s daily driver for around 3 years now. But I have recently got a new company car so this has been sitting around collecting dust and needs to go to as new home. 1989 W124 Mercedes Benz 300CE 3.0L Straight Six 4 Speed Automatic Power sunroof Heated Seats Power Seats Electric Windows Power seatbelt passers Dual Zone Climate Control Air Conditioning Black Leather Interior Powered Head rests Boot Lip Focal K2P Front Splits Alpine CDA-9835 CD player Polk Audio 4 Channel Amp for splits Tinted Windows Lowered springs all round 18 x 8 Lorinser wheels Near new tires Exterior: Outside is pretty tidy, a couple of very minor scratches and dents but original paint comes up very nice in the summer. It’s been lowered 2 inches all round and the new wheels sit quite flush with the guards that have been rolled to prevent scraping. Overall it’s a very nice looking car. Interior: Interior is quite good all round, there are some wear on the front seats (since they are heated), rear seats are great and it has a dash mat installed. Carpet is good and the seats are very comfortable for long trips. Mechanical: Mechanically its great, the previous owner was a trained Mercedes mechanic and had the engine overhauled at 190,000km. It’s now travel just over 250,000 and I expect it to go on forever considering it’s a bulletproof M103 engine. I have just done a service with fuel filter, new plugs, leads, air filter, distributor cap and rotor button so it’s good to go. It’s quite good on fuel also so it makes a great daily driver. Overall a great daily driver for someone that wants something reliable and just a little bit different. It’s always been a comfortable car to drive and it will be a shame to see it go. 9. Price drop to $3000. Has to go as shes just collecting dust.
  10. Hey guys have my 1960 W111 Mercedes 220s up for sale. I purchased this not too long ago and had planned to fix it mechanically and use it as a weekend car while I completed a restoration on my other W111 Mercedes. However due to owning my own house I really can’t afford to have excess cars around. 1960 W111 220S 4 Speed column manual 2.2L Straight six with Twin carbs Couches for seats (very comfortable) New vinyl roof New food lining New tail shaft centre bearing New 13” whitewalls New shift linkage New exhaust Exterior: Outside is fairly tidy, it was painted quite some time ago and is starting to show some age, there are areas of bog that are a little rough, doesn’t appear to be much rust in any horrible areas, none around windows. Bumpers are average. It has a brand new black vinyl roof. Body sure isn’t perfect but it looks great driving around and wouldn’t be a bad example to paint if that’s what you wanted to do. Interior: Interior has had a re-trim at some stage with red velour seats; they were re-padded and are very comfortable, much softer than original. Dash had been trimmed a while back and has aged a little. Overall the interior is very tidy and requires very little if any work. Mechanical: I’ve done a bit of mechanical work to her in an attempt to get her driving nice. I’ve changed the carbies as the originals have some accelerator pump issues. The new ones are in excellent shape but do require a tune to get it running a little smoother. Blows smoke on start up as most of these do. Engine itself is very strong and has almost no oil leaks and doesn’t burn almost any oil at all. I have also changed the clutch as the original as no good. The driveshaft has a new centre bearing but still required a balance as there is a slight vibration over approx 80km/h. Overall it really just need a tune and a balance and it would drive very well. These cars were light years ahead of other manufactures of the same year. Overall a great car to jump in and drive around on weekends. Asking $4000 ono Contact Troy on 0431 290 861 via call or text.
  11. I'm not 100% but i don't think MR2 shocks will fit in a standard KE25 strut. I used AW11 rear shocks in my RA23 but that has a 2" Strut where as a KE25 has a 1.75" strut making it alot harder to find a short shock that will work in it. I was looking into coilovers for KE20 and this was the problem I encountered.
  12. Your talking the KE25 at Cornes Toyota. I've checked it out a few times, its pretty damn good, not quite m*i*n*t however. Its still awesome to see it mixed in with the other new models.
  13. The lock up on the leaves is one of the only things i could think of, but they did re tube the tailshaft, could they have made it too long perhaps? I need to do some serious investigating tomorrow. However I figure if it was the tail shaft being too long then wouldn't the suspension have absolutely no travel? It seems to have standard range.
  14. Hey guys I currently have a very weird issue in my MS47 Crown. 2 Weeks ago I jacked up the backend and removed the tail shaft to get rebuilt, the chassis has been sitting on stands for a couple weeks with the diff hanging down as per normal. I got my tailshaft back today, it was retube'd and balanced. Sat the car back on the ground and for some reason the back end is sitting literately 3 off inches higher than previous. How on earth does this happen? I've taken it for a drive, everything looks and feels normal, shocks are not locked or anything silly, why would it be sitting much higher?
  15. Looks good buddy, was great to meet you yesterday. this thing looks super clean!
  16. I picked up this toolex for $199, super low and light weight, couldn't be happier. Its only 1.2 ton but thats heaps for what I use it for. The 2 ton version is actually cheaper but not as low. http://www.gasweld.com.au/594736-toolex.html
  17. Pretty horrible pictures as it was quite dark and I was using my phone, but I chucked the wheels on tonight. Pretty happy with fitment, pretty flush all round, maybe a tiny little poke on the front.
  18. Love the KU31's, I run them all round on my RA23. The rears are just a KH18 because I wanted the higher profile. I think it looks good and suits the crown, took ages to do just these two however, now I need to do the other side. I never had any luck with whitewall paint, ended up coming off too easily, although I did use it on new tires that probably had too much natural oil in the tire.
  19. Got some tires on the wheels today. Then spent a bunch of time with a white paint pen. 195/60R15 Rears 195/50R15 Fronts
  20. I think this should be with me for a while, it was a tough choice to either keep my KE26 or build this thing up. That picture is my main inspiration for this car, its the same colour and year and style I'm going for. I've got all the trim bits apart from the side strip, but I'm not running it anyway since it has some nice lines without it. Also changing tail lights.
