Hey guys, I'm in the process of taking the motor out of my ke55, and ive seen a lot of people when doing this have taken the grille etc off the front of the car and then taken the middle bit out (up near the top of the radiator, I'm not sure what its called..) Ive taken everything else off but can't figure out how to get this bit out. there doesnt seem to be any bolts or anything there but it just doesnt wanna come out. Can anyone help me out?

Cheers, Jason

I think you might be talking about the radiator support? I'm not sure how to get it off, I think they may be spot welded on? But still, there's no need to take the grill and all the other parts on the front of the car just to take the engine out. The motor should come out easily with all of that stuff still in place. If you want extra clearance just take the radiator out.

if you are planning on reusing the radiator in its current state, when it comes out of the car, lie it down and fill it with water.... if they are left dry for a period of time, scale and rust builds up and when they are re used they block internally causing overheating.... if you leave it full of water apparently they don't do this.....

Early KE30's (jap built) have removable radiator supports. Later KE30 and KE55's have spot welded supports.

YEah what he said. Only the Jap built cars were removable. The Aus built cars were welded. There was one KE55 built in Jap that was removable. That was the KE55p
