Might even consider an insta-bump function too? That way it's 100% fair for all sellers, having it so posts don't = bump in for sale threads, just have it auto-bump every 72 hours (if i remember the rules correctly?) Then when thread closed on announcement of sold, it locks down.

Probably not such a good idea - it means the unless people are vigilant and return to notify that it's sold, we'll constantly be having to close them anyway. If the 72hr rule is stuck too, the sale forums evolve naturally, and if something does sell and people never return, they disappear anyway.

oh yeah, and the PM sent thign is a bit annoying. we get emails to tell us we get PM's i don't think we need 10 posts PMsent, PMreplied, PMsent etc....

You can turn off the Email when PM'd function anyway

I was just thinking about this the other day! I think it would work well and stop a lot of stupid questions bumping up threads etc..

But how will the seller bump their thread after a few days?

Maybe make it so the seller can post in the thread but nobody else can...?

I like trevs idea that a response to a PM will automatically repost, it will effectively halve the number of dopey posts; eg every time someone queries them with:

"yo bruz your mintaaaa ke1x is only worth 800 smackers, I's got a full dope Silo yeh man, how bout swapsies with 4500 cash my way wordup?"

the respondant's "piss off wanker" will all be rolled into 1 post, instead of 2. Defintely got merit.

Perhaps sellers can choose not to autopost their response.

I think the auto post is a great idea, sometimes you have something for sale and after a few months you forget about checking for posts. some new member can't send a pm so instead just posts on the thread and it gets lost 5 pages away. PM is way better idea. :blinks: and sellers will most likely respond quicker when its PM

They are all good ideas.

In the interim can we please just make a photo/attachment mandatory. I'm sick of seeing a 4 sale threads with minimal content and no photo. Yeah you can upload anything, but it'll at least make some people make the effort!

I like the sound of a buyers PM rather than a post, and an optional autopost reply is also a good idea.

I think both would solve a number of the problems we encounter in the sales subforums.
