Chillin Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 what rims/tyres are you running? i had 15x195x65 and could get it to 90mm from the sills slammed on rails. Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) LOL! I'm running 195/60R14. 60mm off the sill? thats almost dangerous let alone no suspension movement your speedo is out correct? from my calculation you need 195/55R15 so your speedo stays the same http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit have a play around with that. Chillin Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 yes it is challange being that low, reflectors on the road are like speed bumps. was not practical at all. I do not have a working spedo, never have. getting that fixed soon. I'm still curious on how you managed to be 2' lower than 110mm from the sills and still be legal? Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 you know the main leaf in your spring pack? the one with the eyes on it? i got a spare pair of them. cut the eyes off and installed it flipped ontop of the old spring ill measure it again tomorrow but a coke can fitted under there like a cock in a shirt sleeve Quote
Chillin Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 I can't see how that would produce and more 'low' than a reversed eye pack with added rebound leaf. You're running 2 1/2' blocks and standard bumps right? Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 no blocks man just the way i said in the previous post. std stops. don't ask how it works but it does LOL! Quote
Chillin Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 This is mind f@$king the shit out of me. could you possaible get pics? Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 see the top leaf with the eye on it? i got another one of those. cut the eyes off then flipped that leaf ontop of the leaf pack kapish? Quote
Ben-89 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 see the top leaf with the eye on it? i got another one of those. cut the eyes off then flipped that leaf ontop of the leaf pack kapish? So in otherwords your saying the top leaf literally pulls the rear end down evel lower on the axle assembly. Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 the leaf i put in with the cut eyes pushes down on the stock leafpack therefore lowering it. flipping the eyes = bump stops. Quote
Chillin Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 I understand completly what you have done, i just can't fathem how far you claim it has lowerd the car. fliped eye and 2 1/2 blocks got me to just above bumps, hard to picture just a fliped leaf getting the same result. Fliping the eye itself would lower the pack a good 1' further than your 'cut eye fliped' to a stock pack method. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 You must have some pretty soft leaves Evan! The shorter the leaf you flip, the lower you go. Quote
Evan G Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 there the std spring pack? when ill be lowering emptycoffin's ke55. ill be flipping the 2nd leaf if i remember correctly this = 1/2 inch off bumpstops aswell Quote
Chillin Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 std bumps will not let you go any furthur than 130mm from sills. so you would be running 150mm ish from sills. hardly 2' lower. Quote
