boofis
Hey Just wondering if anyone on here has tried rolling/flaring their guards? And how did you go about achieving this? I'm curious as to how this is done. Have a good one. Thanks Troy Edited August 31, 2005 by boofis
coln72
If you mean removing the lip around the inside of the guard, a rubber mallet is your friend.
Redwarf
Roll cage pipe and three big mates.
Corolla_Kid
cut the inside lip with an angle grinder. Pull out on guard till its in the correct position. Then remove gaurd from car and weld in a steel rod thus sealing the inner lip where the cuts were made.
Super Jamie
decent tyre shops will have one of these http://www.guardroller.com.au/
Felix
spray a heap of rust converter around inside the boot/wheelarch, before you roll the guards.
styler
i can't say i would recommend any way other than a guard rolling machine, no point in welding or panelbeating with their complications unless skilled in the area of course :D apparently the paint is heated , so when rolled it has less chance of cracking. and it comes out all nice and smooth for about $50 a corner. boofis
Thanks to all. Think I'll try and get the school to invest in a guard roller :D And paint doesn't matter as the KE55 doesn't have any atm. Thanks Troy
Rolla__Boy
I used: 1 x Maglite Torch 1 x Crazy friend to hold said torch 1 x use of vehicles engine to drive forwards and backwards slowly Resulting in.... 1 x set of flared guards that clear my 17's 1 x set of flared guards with heaps of paint missing :D So yeah...use a machine
