I saw one of the new BMW 6 series coupes outside my work today, one like this:

And hmm, I must say, it's pretty cool! I'm not 100% sure about the styling, but I suspect it'll probably grow on me really quickly like the Z4. If nothing else at all, it sounded AWESOME. Like, I heard it drive past and I just had to turn around and stare. BMW know how to make cars sound good...

There's also a Merc that parks on my street (at work) sometimes, numberplates "WILL M". Black, lots of chrome, and a most pimp wheels ever, they look like the normal Merc wheels (flat plain face, cutouts around the edges), except they're like 21" big and chrome, with HUGE dish. Looks phat. Absolutely phat.

I want my share of pimp too.

But the 550i doesn't have quite the same sort of appeal to it. That said, it's also very very cool. BMW make cool cars. Apart from the Z3, i can't think of any late model BMW I didn't like. Even their 4WD things are cool.

Ben's friend came go karting today, and he had a Q45 Infinity with a JP kit on it.

PHAT.

And then he let me sit in the front seat.

PHAT.

And then he let me sit in the back seat.

PHAT.

It took all my willpower to prise myself out of the car and I had to keep repeating to myself "I love my car, I love my car" to convince myself to get back into the Camry...

Can't really dig the new Bimmers. The recent update of the 7-series was a huge improvement, pity the 6-series still has the taxi rear end. Don't mind the new 3-series (E60), but I prefer the first version of the old one (E46). I'd take an M3 anyday of the week. And I still love the old 6-series, mostly the M6/M635i. One day perhaps...

I remember the first time I saw one of those M3's (E46) in real life. I was down in Sydney, sitting in the passenger seat of my Dad's car, and I see one in front and to the left of us waiting at the lights. I sat there and prayed they were a hoon, and boy was I lucky. They revved it out as they left the lights and I got to hear the most amazing engine I've ever heard (excluding possibly Formula One engines). It had a strange metallic sort of note like nothing else. God I want one.
