Men and Relationships - what the?

Featured Replies

Haha, that and some people getting bizzare ideas and thoughts. Like my mum appears to be getting a bit worried about me (although she doesn't say it). I think she thinks I don't meet enough girls, or I'm too picky, or something. But my brother's got kids now so she's got her grandchildren, the pressure's off me a little :D

And then other family friends seem to think maybe I haven't gotten over my ex (it's been years, dammit, very over silly cheating cow of an ex) or something.

And my old friends from yesteryear refuse to believe that I'm *still* single, I think some of them even think maybe I'm gay or something.

Whee...

Haha, I even know someone who's in my shoes. He's 33, he's been single for as long as I've known him (6 years) and beyond, he's a great guy, but girls like him only as a friend/brother etc. And they all keep telling him "oh you'd make such a great boyfriend" etc etc, which I recon is absolute bullshit because if they really thought that then they'd go out with him. I wonder how he copes with it actually, he never complains or whinges about it, he just keeps hoping his luck would change, but it never does. So he just watches on as girls he likes fall for his mates and stuff. Rather sad really.

:( I'll Love you Demuire................

Just don't give up totally because people can read that really easily when youre in a relationship...

Maybe you could take the not caring side of things and put that into the relationship - then you might come out on tops... hang on let me rephrase that... perhaps the next time you are in a relationship and you really like the girl don't say anything relating to how much you like her - just be her friend...let her come to you instead of coming to her... don't be there every single time she wants something because some girls tend to take it for granted if you are there all the time (sort of like playing hard to get)... oh its so hard... i want to help you put i don't really know what to say

don't let people tell you that it doesnt matter - especially if they are in a relationship themselves (what the???)don't ever let anything sink in that puts you down...that is no way to live your life...keep trying but don't try to win just try for the experience - there is a huge difference... the more you worry about not having someone and the more you think about it the more it will show in your character when you do have a relationship - its kind of like putting up a neon sign saying "I'm desperate...but don't care" it makes a person very unaproachable...

Keep it easy...keep it laid back and let them come to you... and most of all DO NOT GIVE UP theres no point in going backwards in coming forwards is there???

Hope maybe some of this does help a little... :D

Thanks rolln16. Umm... Something I don't quite get from your replies: What do you define as "being in a relationship"? How are you "in a relationship" before anything happens? ie, I like people, they don't like me, nothing happens, we're friends. Is that to you, "being in a relationship"? As in like, it's not like it doesn't work out for me. It's more like, it never even began.

Yes have done the "hard to get" thing too. They generally don't try very hard (if at all) to get me :D

Oh well, meh. Maybe one day it'll happen, maybe it won't. If it happens, goodo, if it doesn't, it's not the end of the world.

Well i mean it very generally "being in a relationship" in most cases it is just knowing the person is what i mean - that is when i am referring to you... but when i am referring to other people (actually together) i mean that as boyfriend girfriend does that make sense...

If you break it down being in a relationship just means that you can relate to a certain person in a certain way - so for you i mean - that you may have a female friend whom you would like to further the relationship with to become boyfriend/girlfriend... (now i'm confusing myself...sorry...)

And when they come crawling back to you... thats when you can puff up your chest and point a finger at yourself... and say HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!

I know it must be so hard...girls can just be so thick sometimes well most of the time actually... they can't tell a wonderful guy from a so called gorgeous guy... if you ask me i'd have a wonderful guy anyday - gorgeous guys are pricks (sorry guys no offence) the guys who really deserve a chance are always looked over because they are too nice and it would ruin the friendship...but most girls don't realise that these guys are THE guys to be with...

grrrrr....down the girls who can't see a good thing if it looked them in the mirror everyday... :D

You deserve someone to make you feel the way you deserve to feel...

(not happy...stupid girls....going to have to rant and rave very shortly)

LOL, and that's when they go "oh, but you're different" or "oh you know I love you, but not like that" or "it'll spoil the friendship", YAY!

Ah, it doesn't matter anyway, no point getting all worked up about it. There's more to life than relationships. Like, cars and stuff :D

YEAH, like cars and stuff......! :(

HERE'S TO CARS AND STUFF! :D

I will get worked up about it just ask Rolln03... good guys deserve good women... the whole problem with society today is that too many people are interested solely in their careers or they are brought up in the media so much so that they believe in the whole try before you buy...why stay with one person all your life...thing - especially women - so many of them are so worried about having a good time and trying just about every thing screwable that they forget that guys have feelings too.

I couldnt give two hoots about feminism and all that crap - sure maybe women can do a lot of things just as easily as men can but they forget that men are important too...it just makes me so angry that women want to make themselves all high and mighty but they forget that they were not intended for that purpose... me i am very old fashioned - i would much rather slave over a man (to a certain extent) than go and make some bitch out of myself... :( Sorry i guess thats a little off topic...

grrr...grrr...grrr...grrr :D

I'm sorry Demuire... you just sound like too much of a nice person to have girls just fob you off with silly excuses... and youre far too good to start believing that crap that it doesnt matter......... i know that there may be more to life than relationships but ....dammit... i want to go talk to those girls who have screwed you round with all those stupid stupid excuses.............grrrr

i feel like saying "ditto" to most of this topic.....lol

Rollin16: i know what you mean about the feminism....

The other day i was walking into a servo with a women behind me, probably around 35ish...nice looking lady she was....anyway she was behind me walking into the servo.....so i got to the door, opened it....and waved her through first....(this would have been about the time i thought, shit i could get a slap in the face for this). But instead i got "thank you so much, theres not many of you men left these days....you have a nice day". I then walked through the door and said thank you.

However i seriously thought that i may get a dirty look/slap in the face for doing what i did.....i must say its the best feeling to have someone complement you on your conduct. :(

As for the realationship thing....i don't go out that much, i want to go out...but i don't know where to go....i need more chick friends...:D

Hence what I said before about women being selfish by nature. I have never been with a girl who hasn't cheated on me, it's just fan-bloody-tastic :(

and youre far too good to start believing that crap that it doesnt matter

The moment I stop believing that, Mel's probably going to tell me that I'm a glass half empty again... And I'll be a sad fook again and nobody likes that, especially me. It's much easier to believe that there's more to life than relationships.

Hehe, when I first started working where I'm working now I opened the door for a lady I used to work with and got an absolute earfull about being a male chauvanist and that women can open doors for themselves and stop looking down on women etc etc. That wasn't fun. I'm glad some women still appreciate it

:D that is the coolest smiley ever

Edited by demuire

Demuire... youre glass aint ever been half empty its only ever been half full....

I hate women... :D

Feminism is just sooo stupid... (i think) guys like to open doors and be the "man of the house"

don't believe the crap about it not being important - just don't think about it - it is important but if you arent thinking about it then it doesnt matter in a bit more of a better way huh???

Xany - yeah its funny how some women are like that - i'm one of those girls - i love it when a door is opened for me or a chair pulled out... other feministic women do not know what they are missing out on... :(

Why do you want to know how old i am??? I'm not toying with you.. i'd just like to know the reasoning behind your question...

I could watch that little smiley ALL day!

:D
