Yeah, I listened to the interview the day before it got cancelled on Triple J, I could have just slapped that femminist bitch they were talking too, I bet she could do with a good rooting and mabey she wouldn't be so uptight. Her excuse for why they should cancel it was that all the guys would be pissed off their face and go out and grope and rape women after the show. That the women are made to be sexual objects on the show. Its all a load of shit and politics, they managed to find the loophole they wanted to can the show. I'd love to see them get the politics sorted and stick it back to them where it hurts.

It is back on. They just moved far far away so the BCC can't touch them. Its now being held at Queensland Raceway on October 1 (Happens to coincide with a drift day)

Go the Ipswich City Council. See, Ipswich rocks.

That the women are made to be sexual objects on the show.

See, the messed up thing is that it's socially not acceptable for women to be made into sexual objects, but it's perfectly fine for men to be. And that's supposed to be "equal".

You make that sound like a bad thing, Fook! :D

hahahahahaha

Nah, I do agree... us guys don't thinks with our nuts ONLY you know... we too have brains and a heart... which we use on a regular basis... if not, I don't see me waking up in the morning anytime soon... true?

Yay for equalism.... and microwaves lol...... and he-wenches!! Between work, school, the household crap... I don't know what I'd do without mine :(

The problem with feminists.... or at least ONE of the problems with them is that they give the rest of us career-oriented women a bad rap. I love it when someone is polite enough to open a door for me. I don't think women are here solely for the purpose of breeding and cooking, but I don't think there is anything wrong with a woman wanting to stay home and take care of her family if that is what she chooses to do (or a man either for that matter).

I think it is so sad that the movement for women's rights has gotten to the point where we have to second guess common courtesy.

As for people being thought of as sexual objects... I think people need to know when to take a joke... seriously! These shows like "the man show" or "Blokes world" are meant as entertainment.. not as encouragement to treat women badly, anyone who would run out and attack somebody after watching them has major problems going on that go back much farther than what tv show they just watched!

... and thats all I have to say about that :D

Mikey.... you got a winner here!

I like this girl! :D hahahaha

Entertainment being the key word here. Same with the mags actually. Us guys don't give a rats about Cosmo and Cleo with SEALED SECTIONS!!! Yet bring out Ralph and FHM with a decent pin up... and it's WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH Cowboys.. off your high horse!!!

Mikey.... you got a winner here!

I like this girl!  hahahaha

Here here! I like what mikeys Kris said, that's exactly what I meant. :D

:D WOW!!! What a response... theres so much i agree with that you guys have said that if i quoted it all i may as well just quote the whole topic!!!

Without sounding like a hypocrite - i have to add that i do agree with the equality of men and women - especially in the home... that is where it should most count - where both partners can and do , do everything they can to help the other...

As Mikeys Kris said - I totally agree with the "women who live and breathe feminism giving other women who are just wanting to do their own thing in life a bad rap..." it seems that there are two differences when it comes to this topic - Feminism - the throw away your bras - we don't need men thread, and theres - Equal Opportunity - where women have the same rights as men eg voting and career opportunities but they are still respecting of their husbands/boyfriends and vice versa...

I think that there is equal opportunity then there is just going way too far... Feministic (the real deal) women don't take into account the differences between men and women that will always have us stereotyped within the old criteria of women are home workers (wives) and men are the breadwinners... its okay to want more opportunity and equal pay but to carry on as though we do not need men in our society just puts down the entire race... we need each other equally - for strength, nurture, and just in general... without men there wouldnt be women and without women there wouldnt be men...

And as for the sexuality controversy - its funny that women would use that against a TV show  when sex has literally become a household word... i remember when sex was not mentioned in the home and everyone laughed (very nervously) when it was talked about in sex ed at school... yet women choose to take it to the level of depriving men of a simple mens show... most women could not truthfully tell you that they have not undressed a man with their eyes... that they havent swooned with their girlfriends over the latest movie star or perved on all the hot guys on the beach... men are just as sexually portrayed as women are nowadays.

Its just like Nick said "sex sells" and advertisers, especially the music industry flog it to pieces... I don't agree with models and prostitution but women have always been portrayed as sex symbols throughout history...why??? because we have wombs - not just becuase of how we look... i think the whole sex thing has been blown so far out of proportion that now there is almost no difference between right and wrong...

Bec - I'm glad that you and i are on the same playing field - :(

Mikeys toy - I'm older than sixteen...(thats just the day i was born) and thank you for the compliment...i've lived through some very scary experiences that have helped me not only to be able to look at the world in a different light but too seriously appreciate everything that is given to me each day... i guess you could say i'm very lucky to just be here...

And I just had to add that yes ROLLACLUB its just one great big happy family - that i'm very proud to be a part of...

I think thats it... hehehe  (hugs all round)

ok, time for my rant;

FOOK, i know you've heard it said before, and probably hate it, but you are young.....some girl will just "appear" and knock your socks off. quit looking for her.

i was the same way, met this girl named Desiree'; she was kinda goth, not really my style, but she was cool, intelligent, creative and highly ambitious. things went slow and deep. then her mom got arrested and we "adopted" her 6yr old sister. i love that kid still. then fast forward to 2 years and it started to decline. the last 6 mos. were the worst.

she started hitting me, first when she was drunk (which was often) then all the time.

i tried to "save" her from her demons

she began seeing other guys behind my back, coming in drunk every night.

then came the night she put a knife in me, and i realized i couldn't save her, if i didn't leave she would kill me one way or the other....and she almost did several times.

leaving wasn't good enough, so i had to leave everything i ever loved or knew and move 1,800 miles away.

then i met kristy

but as good as it ever was, it was nowhere as good as life with kristy, i just can't believe how considerate she is, she really cares for my well bieng, nevr puts me down, always talks me up

she is far better than i ever deserve and i just hope she never discovers this.

i don't know about all you guy's religious standings, but i feel the Lord had to show me some things before i was ready to marry....i DEFINETLY had some growing up to do

i love kristy and am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure her every need is fulfilled.

my 2c

quit looking for her

Geez I'm really sick of hearing this. I don't think I ever really understand what people mean by "quit looking for her". What constitutes "looking"? If you mean I'm going out and stuff and actively looking for someone, then you're way off the mark. If you mean that everytime I meet someone I wonder if they could be "the one", then you're also way off the mark.

I haven't "looked" for anyone for ages. Hell, the person I currently like, whom I've liked for a few months now, doesn't like me that way, but what the heck, it doesn't really bother me anymore. Not too much anyway. Do I believe that "there's someone for everyone" or "someone will magically turn up and knock my socks off and it'll all be good"? No not really, but I don't think that really matters. I can totally see me being single indefinitely, I don't live in some fairy tale land where "everyone ends up happily married to their soulmate"...

Edited by demuire

Demuire - no one ever turns up and knocks your socks off - and in my opinion the only time they do that is if they are rather good looking...there are a few lucky people like Mikeys toy who discover that person but most of the time you wont even know youre going to be with someone until after its happened....

All i can say is that i don't believe in giving up...sure you can get grumpy and say that you live in the real world and not some silly fairytale but you forget that most of us started off in that same real world - we have just stumbled along our own fairytales a little earlier than you... its just like that saying "Every child is gifted...it just takes some a little longer to open their presents..." but in this case its "everyone has their own fairytale...it just takes some people longer to find their happy ending..."

I'm not telling you to think singlemindedly about finding your best mate...no-one is...i'm just telling you to don't just drop it and think that you will be single forever - the only way that is going to happen is if you act as though you couldnt give a damn...

Just live your life day to day and one day - whether it be in two days, two weeks, two years, or even two decades - you will stumble across someone or something that will change your life forever and then you will see that everybody has a happy ending...you just have to be patient and for goodness sake...don't just throw in the towel and give up...

Sorry for the harsh words...but i am a great believer that everyone has a great love out there somewhere for them and that one day they will have each other... call me a silly little girl, call me naive or whatever you like but if you don't believe in something if you don't have dreams then what is the point of carrying on in the world...Ive been there - didnt care about anyone or anything lost hope in relationships even family ones...and it almost killed me...no joke...

i just feel that your day will come demuire - we've had some great conversations and i think youre a (in all sappiness) beautiful person... please don't be angry at us... we just want you to find the same happiness that we have...but all in your own time...

Love ya

I've learnt to to let go of the thought that I need to go out and look for a girl.

There's no need to go out and look, or search, or chase. I've had the best relationships with the girls that have been in front of me the whole time without realising! I'm a believer on the note that the love you seek ain't that far from you... the whole time! You never expect it and one day whether it be tomorrow or distant future... you wake up and she's looking at you in your eyes and you think... "You were worth every second of the wait"!

The time I have gone out to look for something, I generally get gunned down by the opposition! And females can actually detect the pheremones of a male when they are "on the prowl" so to speak. If you ain't looking.. they won't feel pressured into anything and may even walk up to you before you even think of contemplating the first move.

  • 9 months later...

i have been with my girl for a long time, I'm only 20, but weve been together for over 5 years. Although we do shag on an almost daily basis, i don't see her as my girlfriend, shes my friend with pleasures. I mean shes there when i chuck a hissy fit after grazing my knuckles for the 15th time in a row trying to get a rusted up stripped bolt off a motorbike I'm rebuilding, or when i get gearbox oil in my hair. She wheels the jack over at drift days even if its never actually lined up with the diff. Shes the one that changes gears when I'm eating my hungry jacks. Pushes my gear box down so it doesnt hit the firewall when I'm lowering in a 4age into a ke70. She always finds that wheel nut that rolled away somewhere where i can't see it when she brings me tea/coffee/cordial (somehow she always knows which one i want without asking).

when i take my last ciggy out the packet she puts a fresh packet in my top pocket. the beds always made, she doesnt leave shit everywhere, shes polite, pretty, and i can't think of anyone id rather be with.
