OK.... from page 8 onwards... new thread and split it!

We lost orgasm contact.. and I opened up a can of "good worms" with the relationship topic via the last post on page 7.

Just a suggestion...

I hate women...

Feminism is just sooo stupid... (i think) guys like to open doors and be the "man of the house"

But I like voting and having options like being able to have childen AND a job/career if I want! :( Feminism isn't about being superior to men (or the "man of the house" or opening doors), it's about having the same choices as men.

But I take your point - I feel sorry for guys because they don't know whether opening doors or not is the right thing. [i personally don't really like it when doors are opened because there is nothing special about me - why should someone do that because of my gender? I should open doors for blokes then!] But at the same time, I'm not going to be nasty to someone for opening a door because they trying to be nice, and that is nice!

It's got to be confusing for blokes because the roles have changed SO much in the last 30 years. How things are now are even different to our parents' - and they're our gender role models! :D

Now that women aren't so dependent on men for money (eg, my Mum had to quit her job when she got married), women can be choosier with their partners. Women can do what they please (oh no I sound like a sticker)! It's great, I really enjoy the possibility that I can do anything I want - I don't need anyone to get by financially. I can choose to be single, I can choose to be a mother, I can choose to be in a relationship with a boy or a girl!

That has to be scary for blokes because it means the courtship dance became a hell of a lot more tricky.

If a woman is snarly about having a door opened for her, then it simply means she is a nasty person.

I think this is where it's difficult for men - and some women - to understand who call feminism "ball busting" or think its about women being nasty and superior. But it's not, feminism is about having the same choices as everyone else.

Wow! I was taken seriously on that thought about the topic split! hahaha... Cool! I should be a moddie, man!! I'm just too good for this shit! :D (so modest)

Anyways... back on topic... 99

Feminism isn't about being superior to men (or the "man of the house" or opening doors), it's about having the same choices as men.

That should just be second nature that a women share her opinions with a a man in the house. NO husband can single handledly run a household properly unless there is a woman complimenting him with opinion and advice. You get married to a partner... and that whole "I" or "me" concept is GONE!!! It's "us" and "we".... being plural... not 1...but 2!!! So I do feel for those that are left out with opinion and sometimes feel that they are not given the opportunity to speak their mind and make suggestions to any issue in regards to running a household or of similar nature.

And we love a girl that can look after themselves.. independance is an addictive drug that girls and guys discover in their late teens... and I tell you what.. withdrawals are often homicidal! hahaha.. Nah, seriously, nothing wrong with a girl/wife wanting to do their own thing or having their own independance. Guys/husbands should feel "hang on.. she needs me, she can't be on her own". Girls know where to go when they need help, they ain't gonna be shy to ask somebody they love for help. Having said that.. you may be stubborn and battle til the end and unfortunately it takes a rock bottom status, when humiliation comes into play, for people to say "I need help"....

Now the help issue is applicable with us guys there. Some marriages I know where the guy is stuck in a jam and he needs the wife to help him out. Some guys may say "well SOME provider I am" That's OLD FASHION SHIT! If you are in a relationship based on trust, loyalty and love, than your partner will only be greatful to help you out.. all you need to do is ask.. and to show appreciation for the gesture.

To me the word feminism should exist.. because if the world stood back and actually saw that boy and girl are actually equal minded, thanks to a magical theory called comprimise, then there wouldn't need to be such a word...

Guys, there is a woman next to you that has 2 hands, 2 legs (good ones at that too :( ) and a brain.. and a heart. They can use them.. so let them do what they need to do... they will come back to you at the end of the day if they want to! hahaha

Girls, us guys don't ask much.. just that you respect us. That's all. We do need your assistance/advice/feedback and we aren't saying we can't survive without you, (that's also the same about you girls not needing us)... but we do benefit with having you around. TEAMWORK!!!!

Hope this thread made sense... I feel like I'm rambling on here... but I'm sure I came up with some good pointers. If something didn't make sense.. let me know and I'll clear up my thoughts a little

Respect to me means staying true to your partner, valuing their opinion, being able to agree to disagree, being faithful and not bragging about your exploits to your mates and others. (even with exs) What you do in the bedroom, should stay in the bedroom or at least between the people involved.

Karma people. Remember that.

I hate the word feminism, I think it should change to equalism. Ever since we got together, even before we moved in together EVERYTHING was ours. Mine & yours didn't exist.

We also don't believe in marriage. Shock horror people, 3 kids, 10 1/2 years and no wedding. We are so committed to eachother that we don't need a piece of paper to prove it. I am going to change my name though,(by deed poll), so that I have the same name as my kids, as I can't stand my family, :D so changing my surname gives me closure on that.

To rolln16, I definately agree that we are on the same wavelength. I like you and what you have to say. :(

Traditional & old fashioned values to me are all about being nice to your fellow human, and treating others as you want to be treated. I love it when a door is opened for me, but I will also return the favour to someone else, male or female. (especially elderly people)

Manners are also something that people need to bring back. These days they seem to be optional extras for some people. We are raising our kids with these things in mind, and constantly get compliments from strangers.

If everyone tried to do at least one nice thing for someone else everyday, the world would be a much nicer place to live.

I may seem off topic, but it can still be applied to any form of relationship.

cmon wench, where's me dinner......

What's the magic word?

:(

OK. seeing as you asked nicely. :D

I love left-overs and a microwave...

Dinner's ready he-wench. :D

Bec,

I agree with you on the word feminism being changed to equalism. Totally.

And the whole thing about the 3 kids and no marriage... reminds me of Gene Simmons from KISS. He's in the same boat... and has never looked back. He has kids and they all respect the fact that he and the mother aren't married and never will be. They have the fear of breaking an arrangement which is ideally an everlasting bond.

Respect to me means staying true to your partner, valuing their opinion, being able to agree to disagree, being faithful and not bragging about your exploits to your mates and others. (even with exs) What you do in the bedroom, should stay in the bedroom or at least between the people involved.

With you on that one aswell.... but as imperfect humans... we all tend to have those we confide in about EVERYTHING. Me personally, I look at it is not bragging or badmouthing about whoever I may have shared an experience with.. I would look at it as a learning tool for those around me, that they don't fall under my foot steps or it may act as a good guide that maybe they are missing something.

That probably doesn't sound good reading it first off... but read it and hopefully, all read this paragraph in the right light.... I'm hoping so..

And mikey... we're all friends here dude :D One massive online family!

This must be like the most make-sense thread I've read in awhile, and if I nodded at everything I agreed to, I think my head would shake loose and fall off.

I open doors for people, not just females. Being polite doesn't stop at being polite towards females.

I believe in equal opportunity for everyone. Male, female, white, black, whatever. I do feel that there are those who take it to the extreme, and when it comes to females the term feminism comes around. They say they are fighting for equal opportunity, it seems to me more like they are fighting to "be on top". And it still seems strange to me that it's ok to have female-only events, invitations, etc etc etc, but it's a crime to have male-only versions of them. The picket lines and banning of Blokes World is just one example of this...
