Trailer Trash!!

Toolbox on drawbar would be quicker & easier, then make a strap underneath it for a spare tyre.

Two coats should be ok if you're putting clear on it, the more clear the better.....

I can get cheap Gas Bottle/Jerry Can holders if you need them too (fit nicely behind the mudguards) & would help counter-balance the extra weight of the toolbox.

I suggested to get a ute tyre holder (windup chain) and bolting it to the underside of the draw bar.

John, I was doing some work on a camper trailer on friday (wheel bearings) and underneath the back was a water tank and on the side of the trailer was the filler and pump, wasn't a bad idea.

Nice effort there. Spare tyre up front would be good. Should have painted it in hammertone. Where is the jockey wheel?

I thought about buying a second hand trailer but ended up buying a new galvanized one, and am glad I did. I'm lazy these days. My 6x4 has got 900kg springs and a 2 foot cage on it which is friggen brilliant.

Yeah planning on buying a jocky wheel, just as soon as work pays me. They shorted my pay by $750 so things are a bit tight atm. But plenty can be done with what I already have. I've had most of these paints for years.

I run out as I know the tarp covering the trailer will fill with water, and I chuck the bricks off. I didn't take much notice of a couple long KE30 garnish pieces I had stretching along the trailer to keep the tarp up. Since they are light weight when the tarp filled they bent in and scratched the paint. My fault, I take that. I'll try to patch it up, but after all it is only the inside and that will get scratched.

Then I get home to find that dad covered the trailer with the tarp again, and stuck masses of bricks on the guards. If only something rang a bell in that rotten brain of his that the last time he tried that the weight of the water pulled in and SCRATCHED MY f@$kING PAINT!!!

Damage Control

Alot has gone down in the past couple days. I almost gave up on the trailer, hired a trailer and shifted all my things to the new place where I never would have seen my parents again.

But today I apologised to my father. He had every good intention as he sees how hard I've been working on this trailer. So I'm back in the garage.

My godfather came over yesterday and welded in that last support, and supplied the 'H' rack.

Today I've just finished painting the last coat of paint/touch up coat on the trailer. Tomorrow I'll be putting the clear on I hope. I've also just bought the jockywheel, the some stainless steel latches, stainless steel screws/bolts etc. Priced up the hardwood timber decking and looks like I'll be saving $245 as it'll be only $114 :D

Now I was going to make it that the 'H' rack could be adjustable but sadly its a real tight fit, so I feel it'll scratch the paint. So I have it on the highest. Also I almost painted it black. What does everyone thing, would have black been better?

I just ran out of black paint. This project has been me using up what I've had sitting around for years. Which is good, cause I don't have to cart them all with me to the new place :)

Anyway hope you guys like :D
