boofis Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Hey I've much deliberation I've decided to get rid of the bumper bars. now, question will I have to mount the 'reflectors/illuminators(Whatever they're called)' to pass rwc? I've been told I have to apparently. Thanks Troy Quote
toyrota Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 i was told it's a no no to not run bars. apparently it's dangerous to pedestrians. as long as you don't hit any you should be right tho hey? Quote
kangaroosa Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Your not planning to do this to your KE55 are you? I assume its not, as i can't think of any bumpers having reflectors? (number plate illumination lights maybe?) Quote
boofis Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 Yeah I'm planning to do this to the KE55. Number plate illumination lights! They're the ones, do I have to have them? LOL, yeah I'll try stick away from pedestrians, wonder why that is? Thanks Troy Quote
kangaroosa Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Yes you need to have the number plate illumination lights. Whats the reason for doing away with the bumpers? All early Corolla's look really silly without bumpers. The metalwork behind the bumper is a bit messy. Its got spot welds and two holes where the bumber brackets bolt up. If you plan to remove the front bumper, you will obviously need to make brackets to mount the indicators. Quote
boofis Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 yeah I'm gonna clean the metal work behind the bumpers up. And yeah, I've got the indicators sorted. Just don't like the bumpers for some reason lol! Thanks Troy Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 i can send you the lic. plate lights off bubba...... Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 just make up some brackets and bolt them to the original bumper bar spots on the rails. should be easy to do with a strap of metal Quote
boofis Posted October 3, 2005 Author Report Posted October 3, 2005 (edited) mmmmhmmmmm. That's what I'm doing. Thanks for the offer mikeys toy, are you for real? And if so, aren't you in america :D Lol Thanks Troy Edited October 3, 2005 by boofis Quote
boofis Posted October 3, 2005 Author Report Posted October 3, 2005 lol, isn't that a bit expensive for 2 little bumper lights? Thanks Troy Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 i dunno, they fit on either side of the plate, also if i can get enuff interest in parts, i can send one big package...i already gotta send jamie the hatch hinge and torsion bars from the te38 i will be picking up this weekend Quote
Dan Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 Adapt some off a XF Falcon, they have them on either side of the no. plate... Or make some LED ones... (white of course...) Quote
boofis Posted October 4, 2005 Author Report Posted October 4, 2005 Na I've got the design sorted for the stock ones. Hope it's legal. Up next to the headlights, turn them sideways and attach them like that. OR if that fails, down at the bottom in the front 'panel' put some circle hole grille and mount them through that. I can't explain things well :D lol. Thanks Troy Quote
st.nick Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 This is how I mounted the front indicators/park lights. Just chopped and re welded the brackets... Quote
