Mason. Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 decent mate, looks like a quality build. i love it Quote
pozman Posted April 29, 2011 Author Report Posted April 29, 2011 (edited) ok just a quick update, things are starting to move along, got myself a few new things got a haltech sprint 500, and a set of ls1 coils to make wiring the beast up a lot easier, got new manifold on the way, so i can cut it up to fit the quads, getting the flange for them cut next week. new extractor flange also came today, got some bends organised and a decent price so i can get rid of the horrible 4-3-1 extractors on there, (yes that's not a typo, they go 4, then join two and then the 3 pipes join into one, with a horrible collector too! (this was not my work)) going for fairly curvy style that a lot of people are running on rwd 20v's these days, will also be the easiest way to get length into them with out getting clearance problems form the idler arm and so on, been nutting out the calcs, and with the capacity I'm going and the cams, they sort of need to be around the 25-30 inch length not much more is needed now tho before i get can start to get it running with the quads, get wide band and controller, decent tacho, and a bit of fab work paul Edited April 30, 2011 by pozman Quote
78_7kRolla Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 **mwahahahahahahah** (deep belly laughs) Awesome news Poz, now under the bonnet will sound as tough as the outside looks ;) KE55s versus s15 take two me thinks ;) Quote

pozman Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 Hey mate nice rx3 hahahahaha Stu. hahahah, nice ok, update \ been working on a strut brace over the last couple of weeks in my spare time made the tower pads from old strut tops that i cut and grinded the center out of, then bent and welded some flat plate on to it to make these i made the actual brace out of some 16NB with some rod ends, one right hand thread and one left, bought some male ones aswell and cut the tie rod end off them and welded the threaded section into the ends of the pipe 12mm stainless cap head fixes the brace into the bases/pads haven't painted it yet but should come up quite nicely Quote
pozman Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 ok now for all the shinny bits AEM wide band controller and sensor haltech sprint 500, iphone is there to show how small this thing is full set of ls2 coils, have to make a better bracket and get custom leads made up and the horribly expensive plate i had cut to be welded onto my manifold so i can fit the quads hopefully get this welded up in the next couple of days Quote
ninja-philbo Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 epic so keen to see how this na screamer sounds Quote
SLO-030 Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 full set of ls2 coils, have to make a better bracket and get custom leads made up Full set for an LS2 (8)? or Full set for a CA (4)? Quote
pozman Posted June 12, 2011 Author Report Posted June 12, 2011 yeah full set for a ls2, so i have 8 with the two looms and brackets decided today to triangulate the strut brace since i have some rod ends left over also forgot to add i got pistons, 1mm over sized, doesn't leave any room if i damage one but brings up comp and the displacement by about 50cc paul Quote
pozman Posted July 14, 2011 Author Report Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) little update and maybe some help? bought a new motor last week to save the rolla being off the road for the rebuild started pulling the motor apart and it seams to have had a bit of work done, over sized pistons already, only .50mm but still good, and metal head gasket, win! my question is does any one know if ca18de have dome top pistons factory? or are they flat top? done a bit of searching and can't find a decent answer paul Edited July 14, 2011 by pozman Quote
pozman Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 update time head is finally done with the match porting and clean up, didn't get too drastic, just took out the rough bits and fixed the shit castings, it looks like its had a fair bit of work around the valves already and they a have a had a three angle job done on the seats shouldn't be long before it get sent to my head head man for machining as the valve springs have arrived just waiting on the camshafts that i have ordered there some tomei camshafts, biggest hydro ones they do, 8.8 lift and 270 duration, apparently good for 3500-8500+ which 8500rpm is where I'm going to set my rev limit shouldn't be an issue either as ive found that the new motor has arp rod bolts  also been very busy with the tig, extractors are done, wrapped, painted and fitted while being built test fit in the bay and all wrapped and painted their equal length and tuned for about optimum power around the 6500rpm mark, thought this would be good even area on where it would make its power with good leeway either side when i had them fitted had and extra muffler fitted which has cut the noise done a bit, good for when i get the quads in there, bit nicer on the daily drive too also got a trd 2 way lsd from a zenki gt-apex, which i pulled down and cleaned, and just double checked everything is right, looks brand new inside, just waiting on the rebuild and solid pinion spacer kit from the states think thats about all for now paul Quote
