kickn5k Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Sneak Peak. 2 coats. Fresh off the gun. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. That looks sick man I'm doing mine like that!!!!!hahaha But seriously it looks pretty good. Your going with some form of signage/logo on the side aren't you? I saw a mustang "pace car" at the last Phillip island classic. It was cream with the signage half rubbed off then flat cleared, it looked awesome. Just a thought. Stu. Quote
abbott Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 good work Jono. hope you get a good weekend to smash some out! Quote
Jono.C Posted August 17, 2011 Author Report Posted August 17, 2011 Cheers guys, Yeah stu laying a vynal on the doors, was considering putting it on the primer and then spraying the green over it and peeling the vynal off and getting it pinstriped but still unsure on that Quote
Jono.C Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Got stuck in today. Worked on the rear guards and got them in spray putty and sanded down. Hopefully get the doors, boot and roof done tomorrow. Started it for the first time in 4 months today, started pretty easily but on 3 cylinders as the dodge brother swapped one of my plugs with his dunga one. Got it running alright and hooked up the temp guage. Then i managed to be a spanner and snap off both thermostat housing bolts.. Weak. Luckily i have a spare but it's been drilled and tapped out to some rediculous size so unsure what i'll do yet. Still trying to source an ae82 boot wing for a chin spoiler but might have a go at making my own yet. Also needing a pair of ke30 hubs for the front end. Pics up tomorrow if i get a chance. Jono Quote
SLO-030 Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Do you want some KE30 hubs sent with your Turbo gear? Quote
Jono.C Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 Ahh, Funny you should say that man, i just sourced a ke30 front brake setup from the guy i'm getting my guard and that from. cheers though mate  Quote
SLO-030 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Manage to get more done to this beast today Jono? Quote
Jono.C Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 A little. Mate had to work so was a no go with the brake and guard getting. Went back to doing the rear guards for a while and then fixed the thermostat housing i broke yesterday. Got it running again and then it died. The $5 fuel i put in it in February FINALLY ran out hahah. Chucked more fuel in it and it was fine but now it's running on only 2 cylinders? :hmm: Thinking it might be the dodge rotor button my brother swapped in out of his car >| It's missing the locator lug underneath it so i think it's just spinning to it's own devices.. I then proceded to fix my temperature and fuel guages plus the ignition and then took the grinder to the exhaust to get rid of the ganky rusty as feck exhaust under the car. Got a ke38 wagon exhaust under the house i'm thinking i might be able to use. I'm thinking i can get this prepped for paint within a month. Wont be easy with tafe etc but should happen. Until then i'll just keep at it. Cheers Quote
SLO-030 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Sweet man! Keep chipping away at it, wont be long  Quote
Jono.C Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 Camshaft is being mailed off this week to get a regrind suitable to make this haul arse. Not too much has gone on lately, just chipping away at bodywork. Put a cd player and stuff in it today to crank some tunes while i work on it. Wont be doing anything tomorrow as it's drift day  Quote
kickn5k Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) Boots painted Jono? If so looks sick. Stu. Edited August 26, 2011 by kickn5k Quote
Jono.C Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 Yeah, funny thing about the boot.. It looked overrated after some work, it was warm out for an hour or so and I decided to hit it with some green (before I did the jams) to see how it looked.. I don't know whether i didn't stir it enough or what but it dried lighter and satin to almost gloss, nothing like the jams.. Plus this paint shows out every little scratch, so the boot which actually looked staight now shows up some fair sized dents :( Sundays supposed to be good weather so I'll get up early and see if I can get most of the car done, 6 hours straight and it'll be almost ready I reakon. So keen! :D Quote
